I apologize, this is probably going to be a long introduction, but I want to tell you where I've been this past year and get any advice that ya'll have to offer.

I had a bicycle accident on March 13 2017 and broke my humerus just below my shoulder. It was fairly darn painful, but I spent three months recuperating (using norco for the first two weeks) and finally got back to work. It was bad, but I made it through. Then, on January 7 of 2018 I had yet another cycling accident. I broke my collar bone on the same side and now find myself in some constant pain. I don't have pain from the fractures, but constant soft tissue pain from the muscles and tendons trying to figure out what they are meant to do now. Constant pain.

My guy came home one night and found me sitting on the patio and crying and decided to research some things which ended up with me at a community acupuncture facility. That actually worked out amazingly well. After the first treatment, that one muscle right behind my shoulder blade loosened up so much. It was a great relief, and I've been going back frequently, but long shifts are still very challenging for me.

Then, two days later, I was feeling significantly better and standing in line at the local Scotchman when I saw a little bottle of something called a relaxation shot. I bought one, and was surprised when the clerk asked for my ID. I swallowed the shot with no expectations but there was a reduction in my pain! So I went to a smoke shop (kinda emmbarassing) and got some capsules. That's what I'm using right now.

It's good, but I think I'd rather order online and I don't have A lot of tolerance. I want to feel just normal while still getting pain relief. Any suggestions?

I am assuming you are taking Mitragyna Speciosa? or Kratom, or you would not be here.

Many people on this forum use it for pain management.
There are many reputable vendors if you click on the vendor tab at the top of the page.

Red strains are best for pain so start there. Starting dose is 2 Gms...so see how that goes.

You have to be willing to experiment to find the right dose, the right strains, and the right frequency of dosing to manage pain.

Your goal should be to get enough pain relief to allow you to engage in rehab activities to strengthen muscles to support your shoulder joint and loosen any fascia that may be stuck or scarred from your recent accidents.

The road can sometimes be bumpy...so expect ups and downs as you find your way but the WORST thing that can happen to you using Kratom is if you take too much you will vomit. It is not pleasant but not harmful either.

Do a search on this forum for the Keywords "digestive issues" and read the entire thread.
If you take Kratom regularly you have to have a bowel maangement program in place as you can become VERY constipated. It is always better to prevent constipation than try to deal with it when it has happened.

Headaches and itchiness are not uncommon when starting so make sure you stay hydrated and drop the dose down if it gets too much. Eventually your body will adapt and these symptomd will go away.

Smokeshop Kratom is not consdiered to be the best quality so find a vendor on the list and purchase powdered leaf. You will need a scale to accurately measure the amount. In order to ingest it you can put in capsules yourself or let it dissolve in water and drink it down.

Accurate measuring is important in my view bevcause you can devleop tolerance quickly and that can lead to increasing the dose. Even a small amount the size of your pinky fingernail is 100mg so it can happen easily.

Just as a point of reference i take 4.5 Gms at least 4 times per day for pain management and I have been taking it for just over a year. If there is no history of opiate use many people can get by on less than than what I take...usually between 2 and 3 gms.
My 97 yr old mother takes 1.7 Gms 4 times per day.

As the good witch said in the wizard of OZ...
"It is always best my dear to start at the beginning."

SO my suggestion for where to start is to select a vendor from the list and order a sample pack of 4 red strains and find out what dose and strain works best for you.

Red Bentuangie
Red Borneo
Red Plantation
Red Maeng Da
Red Bali
Red Vein Thai
Red Horn

Are all good starting points depending on what they have.

While you are waiting for delivery, order a scale from Amazon so you will be ready to go when your samples arrive.

BTW...commercially available capsules are usually about 500mg or .5 Gm so that gives you an idea of how much you have been taking.

You are wonderful, thanks so much for the advice. I realize the smoke shop stuff isn't necessarily the best, but the first night I tried it I legitimately got a full 12 hours of sleep (using 3 capsules). It was the best nights sleep I've had in a year. I even woke up om my bad side the next morning with very few side effects. I'm so pleased. I swear I'm not a wimp. This stuff is awesome. I'm a little worried about gaining too much tollerance, but whatever, I'll take it if I don't have to work through the pain anymore. Love and hugs everyone.

And yes, the major ingredient in that little liquid shot was Kratom.

OK, just realized I didn't wake up at 6 AM, but at 6 PM on the same day. This is my second day using Kratom, and again, no pain, just a dull tingle and heat in the spot where I used to hurt like a mother. Plus I guess an added day. I really did think it was the next morning.

Welcome aboard!

Funny how time feels like it moves at different speeds when we are IN PAIN versus NOT IN PAIN.

“Night and Day” difference.

LOL

This is the Wikipedia link
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fascia

There is a developing body of knowledge about fascia, what it does and how it is involved in musculoskeletal and soft tissue pain.

It is possible for fascia to get stuck (from injury and immobility) and apparently it is very perceptile so it ifs often involved in PAIN.

There are lots of good videos on YouTube about fascia, so that can be another good resource.

BTW if you were taking a liquid shot it was probably an extract..they can be VERY strong and we do not advise their use for beginners as it is difficult to know EXACTLY how much you are taking and tolerance will develop quickly. (No wonder you got such good pain relief!)

So in the beginning stick to powdered leaf.

Welcome to the forum Seven100, and to the BIG KRATOM EXPERIMENT! We are all eager to follow your learning curve so keep us posted.

We will help in whatever way we can.

Thank you so much for the information. I continue to experiment. I was off of work for two days when I began to experiment with the capsules, so I was pretty free and easy with them in the beginning (five per day). Maybe I went overboard, but it was so nice to feel comfortable.
Knowing that I would have to go back to work this morning I tapered off a bit yesterday without any adverse effects, but the pain management aspect was lessened. I'm just kind of afraid to take them before I go to work because I have to deal with people all day and they(the capsules) do make me feel a little fluttery in the brain. I'm worried that I will seem off to my employer, but at the same time, work is the biggest challenge and need in my life right now.
I'm definitely going to check into some of the vendors and strains that you suggest. It's a little scary though because I already feel that there is a tolerance developing.
Then there's my guy, who smokes weed all day every day telling me that kratom is addictive. I find that kind of ironic, but he's fairly easy to deal with, so I'm just going to keep reminding him that I'm not sitting on the floor crying anymore.
Love and hugs.
