Yes I must have to change my comments on Dependence of Kratom. Anybody can become quite dependent on it but being addicted to it is a whole other thing. Kratom has low addiction potential compared to opiates but it is still there but you can become dependent on taking it each & every day thinking that you can't live without it when you actually can live without it. It will depend on each person's addictive tendencies on whether they keep taking more & more of it but I must say I was about the worst Opiate Addict there was 9 years ago. I had to feel that euphoria all day long from opiates & with Kratom it's totally different. With Kratom I am able to keep the same daily dose for years now without a change. Kratom has a all natural mood lift that is not euphoria but is more like an anti-depressant in making you feel better about yourself. After taking Kratom I no longer had to feel that false euphoria from opiates anymore & could be myself without getting high on opiates. That's what so great about Kratom. Kratom can do it all. There is no other Herb that can tackle so many problems at once. I think Kratom is the key to stopping the Opiate Addiction Epidemic if it stays legal.

I completely agree with your post. Yes you can be dependent on kratom but its the same way people drink coffee everyday and throughout the day.
And yes it def. depends on a person addictive tendencies and what they are trying to get out of kratom.
I feel good on kratom not high like opiates made me feel. Kratom i feel like a normal happy person again like i did before being on drugs, alcohol, and legit script meds messed up my brain chemistry.

the thing with opiates is you seek that high and develop a tolerance quickly. Plus your life is going to spiral out of control and you become mentally, physically, and spiritually bankrupt as the opiate addiction progresses. there is no way that your life on opiates will get better.., only worse. How many times have we done stuff we said we would never do but kept crossing that line as the opiate addiction progressed.

Only been using kratom for a short time but i cant believe all the positive benefits without the negative sides of opiates.
You just need to listen to the replies from people on this forum. They are happy or if getting off opiates getting much needed help and the advice on how to do so.
you really dont find that on a forum that isnt about kratom. Why..,again i would argue that kratom is helping members to fell good and manage pain without a bunch of negative side effects, going to jail, rehab, or overdosing and dying.

This is so well-put, and I think it's the one thing that keeps my wife off of my a** about taking it daily. My only comments to her have been "Do I seem normal to you? Am I able to function without problems? Do I seem drunk or high to you?" She knows I don't drink much at all anymore, too. That HAS to be a huge sign to her. The proof is in the pudding. I take it every day and whatever it does to me, I like it and it doesn't seem to affect anyone else. Boom.

And you have to remember, my wife is the person who just happened to be home the day Dr. Oz covered Kratom and she sees the negative attention this leaf is getting and automatically believes it must be an evil and horrible thing. This was during the contamination "scare" and her comment was "but you don't know what you're getting" and "you don't know what it's in it." Umm, yes I do. Because i'm careful about who I buy from thanks to places like ILK.com. Of course, the regulation "need" was part of the entire "spiel" on Dr. Oz and she fell for it hook, line, and sinker.

No, people. We don't need MORE regulation in this country. We need WAAAAAAAY less.

Can you believe I used to think I was a conservative?? LOL

Anyway, one more thing....I was on Twitter yesterday and saw a bunch of knobs on there saying "Kratom is bunk" and "it's a bunch of BS because it does NOTHING" and I couldn't help but laugh. These guys are looking to get high and they think because of the FDA and DEA's stance, it must be pretty freaking awesome. LOL Isn't that hilarious?? :x

Yeah, the FDA oversold kratom as a DRUG to get HIGH.

FAKE NEWS strikes again!

Totally funny!

Your story is much like mine, Philly. After all, I’m a recovering addict, for crissakes.

The leaf is not destructive to my life in any way.

If it were, I’d be kicking kratom to the curb.

I’m so glad your wife has noticed you are not wrecking your life in the least.

I continue to return here for the sake of education as people arrive! It’s not a QUICK FIX AT ALL, and those who need help getting started need a SAFE place to get an education on safety with regard to use and choosing a resource. And just STICKING WITH IT when they “don’t feel anything”, which is quite different from NUMBING ONESELF.

The DEA and FDA are disappointing the same people they supplied with opiates. I’m quite sure they will be launching a NEW drug to abuse and wreak havoc in no time. Any minute now. They already HAD one to launch during our Thanksgiving attack, but it was TOO UNSAFE and had to be pulled at the last minute. It had a name and everything!

I’m so grateful to the leaf for helping me manage psychological AND physical disabilities that would otherwise limit my life to bedside activities only.

Happy New Year!
