Hi...A couple of weeks ago I decided to do a quick reduction from suboxone from 12mg a day to 2mg a day. When I got to 2mg, I kept getting afraid and would go back to 4mg. So I ordered samples of Kratom and decided to stop stalling. The first five days I was doing perfect on 2tbsp. 2 or 3 times a day. When I saw that it was working I ordered more but I guess because of holiday it didn't get here in time so unfortunately I had to go back on 2mg of subs until it arrives. I should have taken more care to early a few more days ahead. Im wondering if anyone else has had this happen and if it makes it more difficult to quit again and restart with Kratom. Im really disappointed in myself because I was doing so well. The only trouble I had was the last day trying to take much less of Kratom to make it stretch thru the holiday. I really want to put Suboxone behind me. It doesn't help with pain much anyway and I've seen others close to me be as dependant on it as the drugs they were trying to get off of.
Thank you in advance if anyone has an experience like this and knows if it is possible that I can make the switch back once my order arrives.

"2tbsp. 2 or 3 times a day"
did you mean tsp because tbsp is a lot higher dosage?

A rounded tsp is about 2 to 2 1/2 grams of powder.

I’m hoping you meant teaspoons (pretty sure we already discussed that).

While using it to get off other drugs, don’t limit number of doses per day.. Nor the dose size - within reason. It’s better to use it MORE OFTEN to avoid overlapping with the drug you’re getting clean of. Higher doses may or may not be necessary as well. Short term, this is safe and not addictive. Taking it for long term is completely different and that was your dose schedule. That’s for LATER IF NEEDED,

The only thing wrong here is trying to juggle holiday obligations AND get clean. You cannot multitask this and get it right.

Give this project the respect it requires, start over and don’t remodel the kitchen until you’re done :)

You’ll get it.

I do not know if this is helpful but recently I had to go back on opiates following some minor surgery.

I used ONLY opiates for a few days then went right back to Kratom. I have not noticed anything negative from this at all.

I never had any WD sypmtoms or bad effects....NADA

Not sure if it would be the same for suboxone but that is what happened for me.

Please give yourself the time and flexibility you need to do this. It is not a lineal trajectory. There will be ups and downs and setbacks along the way. Keeping your eye on the long term "big picture" goal is key.

The general rule that we try to live by is to take as much as you need as often as you need it to keep symptoms under control.
There is no rule about this you have to experiment. BUT I would recommend you get a scale in order to do more accurate dosing.

You're right. I was so afraid the Suboxone would raise my tolerance so high if I kept taking it that I got in a big rush to get off of it. Not taking into account the holiday and the fact that I didn't have enough on hand to start this right. I've been on opoids for over twenty years and my tolerance is crazy high. So I think I figured what I was burning to be between 6 to 7 grams. Also, I noticed with the red I needed only half of that, but I used that first. It took more of the green and white. So this last order, I got red blends and gold for day time. I tried lower doses at first because I wanted to use the lowest possible to keep me comfortable. Then I went back and read that some people with high tolerance may need more.
This forum has been very helpful in finding a vendor and deciding on which veins. As well as the support. I can't say enough how appreciative I am to have this community! Happy Holidays!
