I am currently on the Subutex because I became addicted to Opiates after a back injury. I took Tramadol for approx 4 years and become very dependent. I quit because I started to abuse them. I never really stopped as my wife had a script of her own and I would always take hers. It was a terrible terrible time of stealing, lying and just hating myself. I finally admitted I had an issue and went to a addiction medicine doctor to get on subs. They help tremendously but as we all now know, they are even further addictive. So 2 years later I'm still on subutex and while I could continue on them forever, I am not happy, it can be expensive($168/month for my Doc appt) and I know it isn't healthy.

I'm ready to withdrawal for my last time. I came across Kratom while reading a website about Opiate Addiction Support and beating it. The guy(Matt Finch) believes in the power of Kratom and after reading a bunch and researching quite a bit, I believe too. My wife is on my side with this also because she wants me to truly recover. She figured me taking Sub and nothing else was much better than lying and stealing her pills behind her back and constantly going through withdrawals when I'd have to come clean to her that I was taking pills again. I've grown to completely DESPISE the word PILL now. When I hear the word I literally shudder and fear and anxiety sweeps over me. I would even call it a paranoid feeling. It's strange but it's there. I have started using my Faith as a tool and it has helped me control my mind and get it where it needs to be. I am now prepared to work on the Chemical aspects of this addiction.

I planned to taper down slowly with the subutex but I'm terrible at it honestly. I'd almost rather just stop today and start taking K and go with it. The longer I take Sub in any dose the longer it is going to drag out the bad stuff(In my mind). I took my normal 16mg sub Monday and only 8mg Yesterday. I took some White borneo this The past Monday but no effects. This morning I took approx 5gm of White Borneo and honestly I feel great and pretty happy. Abnormally Happy but this may be Placebo because I know my receptors are still jammed up with Bupe.

I have about 1lb of Red Bali on hand, 4oz of Red Maeng Da and some White Borneo. I know I need more to get through these Withdrawals which will start soon but this is what I have as of today.

Also just to be clear, I am taking a Greens supplement in the mornings with lots of Vitamins and herbs in it for energy and all the good stuff Greens do for you. I figure this will help supplement any of the deficiencies I currently have. I would REALLY like to buy the Opiate WD supplement Matt speaks about on his site but it's so expensive. opiateaddictionsupport.com/best-natural-...r-opiate-withdrawal/

Any suggestions or concerns?

Hi KRA KRA,

My advice has been given: don’t do it. Kratom is not a “fits all” plant.

My second point in my reply to your intro was:

It’s not any less expensive than subs. Quite the opposite. You will need to dose every 2-6 hrs.

I wish you all the best with your withdrawal and I’m sorry you’re pressing forward.

Many people here will help you, but you need to get your sub dose WAY DOWN first. Start there. You have a good starting supply for when you’re down on the subs quite a ways.

I like Matt’s withdrawal supplements, but they were hard to notice benefits from because I was using kratom while using them. They will be very nice for after you’ve kicked subs. At a few bucks a day (for 3 pills a day), they also are not free or inexpensive. I splurged for ONE BOTTLE.

Good luck to you...
Laurie

Point taken. Although I mentioned the costs in my post it is not one of the most important factors for me. I am somewhat shocked that I am being told to stay on a drug that we know is just another addiction. You asked what I stand to gain by getting off Subutex. Well, it would be nice to not have to go to the Doc every month to get pills which is no different than what I was doing before. Only difference is it's a different Pill and they have no problem subscribing more. Although it is easy to continue this road and do the "maintenance" as they call it. I would really like to take a more natural way.

I'd like to think that I stand to gain things such as.. Normal Dopamine levels, Feeling better about myself, things like that...

Kra Kra, thanks for sharing your struggles and challenges. I have dealt with the pains of addiction and the shame that comes from addiction.
Kratom can and does help. You will have a difficult time replacing your current meds with Kratom.
Here is why... in order to get the positive and wonderful effects of Kratom you will have to work hard to keep new and different quality Kratom on hand buying a large quantity from one vendor isn’t the answer. To get benefits from Kratom you need to rotate strains , colors , and vendors to keep from building a tolerance.
It can turn into a lot of effort and there is no guarantee of quality of experience.
You can overcome your challenges. Kratom can and will help.
Just go in knowing it takes a lot of trial and error.
Try sourcing your kratom from different vendors to avoid tolerance issues.
Good luck.....

Hello & Welcome to ILK KRA KRA.:-h That's Fantastic that you have gotten off of those Tramadol & have been on Subutex but now you know it's time to get off of Subutex for good. Subutex is really only supposed to be taken for a few weeks until the Withdrawals go away but most people get addicted to it as well. Kratom will be much safer & easier on your body than Subutex or Tramadol.

I was once addicted to Tramadol as you were. I did the same things you mentioned. Lying & Stealing is what addiction is all about & once you come clean there is a great weight that is lifted off your back & you get another chance to make it right with the people who Love you. I would say that Tramadol probably has some of the Worst Withdrawals of anything out there. I have went through Tramadol withdrawals several times & it was just Horrific. Took me a full month to get back to semi normal.

I know Kratom will help you get off of Subutex for good. Kratom will give you a mood lift. So don't be surprised if you are feeling good. Jazzfan1 has some great advice. It will take a lot of experimenting with different vendors & strains to see which ones work best for you. It's better to pay more money to get several strains split into a kg rather than just get one strain into a kg. Good Luck on your getting off of Subutex with Kratom. I know you can do it. This is why we have this Forum. We are here to help people like you KRA KRA to Learn all about Kratom & to kick addiction for good with Kratom. Good Luck!
If anybody has any Questions about Kratom please private message me or make a Post & I will be glad to answer as soon as I can usually within 24 hours if not sooner. I'm usually on really late at night Between Midnight & 5am.

I am sitting down tonight to decide what other strains I need to buy to have on hand. I have a good amount of Red Bali right now and some Red Maeng Da. I am considering buying some Whites or Yellows for the energy that I'm going to be desperately lacking really soon. I know I realistically need a pound of everything right now but I can't afford that. Im considering buying a larger variety pack from Pharmacy Drop Out because he offers variety or Multi packs with larger quantities instead of just 1/2 or 1oz packs each. Any thoughts or ideas on what STANDARD Strains that are good to have in general? Like should I buy 8oz of each basic type from Top Extracts?

Greens for the depression (it gets bad)
Reds for the pain

I found that even a sip of caffeine was enough to give me the shakes from overstimulation in the third week. But we all respond differently to the whites/yellows.

Different reds might be wise. Some help for the insomnia and some don’t let the brain sleep at all, so try to “spice up” your reds supply. They will affect you differently for detox than they will AFTER. So you can’t have too many good reds.
Same with the greens.

Personally I use coffee instead of white vein to keep my tolerance low if I need a “lift” because the whites offer very little pain relief, in my experience.

Looking forward to your transition!
Laurie

Kra Kra, of the approved vendors on this forum I have ordered from. I think you should check out Canopy Botanicals. They have a lot of selection and their prices are very good. They also have fast response time when it comes to shipping your order. They also have a good reputation for quality. You can also try PA Botanicals samples section. Your best bet is not to order all your Kratom from one vendor. Spread your orders out and try strains for yourself. I am awaiting my first shipment from Re-Leaf LLC and will review how that goes in a day or two. Good Luck...

Kra Kra, I forgot to mention when shopping on Canopy you have to enter SPECIOSA in the search column. If you don't you won't see the Kratom. You might run into that on other Kratom sites as well. Speciosa is part of the scientific name for Kratom.

KRA KRA Greens are the do it all stains in my Opinion. They can give you Energy, Pain Relief & Mood Lift. In my Opinion Green Malay is the best Strain for a Jack of all Trades Strain. If you want energy then something like White Thai or Green Vietnam always works for me. It all depends on what you want it for. I would Order a Sample pack with all the Main Strains like your Bali, MD, & Malay with any Color.
