I dont know that is the problem but I havent experienced any of the effects that some others seem to have. My main concern is to get more energy, and more desire to get up and do things instead of just feeling down and out all the time. I am going to try yellow vein next and see what happens.

I do not have the experience with the meds you take so I hope others can input.

Yellows give me mood lift so I hope you get that motivation you are seeking. No green strains yet?
I started only on Red Strains for I was seeking pain relief when I finally tried and found my favorite green strains I found this color kratom to be the most motivating with enough pain relief and energy to be my work day strain.

Thank you for the up date we all can learn from these experiences.

...but never got the energy burst or even the slightest euphoric effect.

Do not worry about this. This is all a bit of hype in my view, delivered by vendors who want to attract addicts who are looking for a high. I never get any of these effects either.

I cannot even get any effects from cannabis...I wonder what the big deal is.

So IF you are taking kratom specifically to get energy or euphoria you might be disappointed.

Superlative nutrition, combined with exercise might be a better solution for you. Kratom can do a lot but it cannot make up for poor nutrition or even lack of movement needed to maintain health.

My own journey has proven to me that getting and staying health is a shitload of work . Kratom helps me to control symptoms so that I can spend the time and energy on those things, BUT Kratom has never accomplished anything that even remotely comes close to the changes that good nutrition and regular movement for strength and flexibility have done for me in the last 5 years.

Speaking of shit....

PLEASE do a search on this forum for "digestion issues" and read the thread. You need to get a good bowel management program going. There is no way you can be a regular user of Kratom and not have to do something to keep the drains running on time.

But first I guess you have to decide if Kratom is going to be the best thing for you.

No experience with Norco and taking kratom but others can advise.
We have a few members here who use kratom to fill out the void from their doctors under prescribing their normal pain meds. Most will switch over to only kratom but not everybody. Some won't find the relief they need from kratom but you have to put in the taper work and the kratom learning curve before the decision is made.
A good sample of strains from a few vendors, Reds are recommended because they help most with withdraw, not all Red will be sedating so the sampling is highly recommended.
I am no fan of white strains just because they are considered energizing does not make them motivating, sometimes I feel edgy and uptight when I take certain white strains. This is me of course kratom is different for everybody.

Dropout is highly recommended but I haven't tried them yet.

Anyone concerned about potency of kratom and they seem to be struggling with results I tend to recommend Re-leaf LLC. Always potent , sometime I get a kratom "hangover" from Re-leaf because I forget to dial the dose down. Potent does not always mean you will like the results though.
I suggest adding a few more Reds. Yellow is great to try and for rotation. Green was my surprise it showed me how much anxiety I was ignoring by crushing it hence why I find greens very motivating.

My vendors are -
Insense/Goldleaf
Pa botancials
Re-leaf llc
Socal Herbal Rememdies
Herbal RVA
Inland Botanicals

Red Sumatra from Insnese my most sedationg strain
Red Hulu is a day time Red also form insense.
Green Thai is my longest lasting work day green strain- Insense
Runner up is Green Borneo from Pa Botanicals.
Old school Re-leaf Greens can't name now they changed their business model.
This is just an example of some of the Kratom I have. It might seems like too much work to have six or seven different strains. I started with Red Borneo and Red Bali from PurKartom and then I just started my collection from there.
Most days I get pain relief for my back pain but my expectation from Kratom is only the ability to function anything over that its a plus. For a year now its been mostly pluses.

I can't say any of my favorite strains will work for you its just to show how I built my kratom collection.

This is a bit of a ramble but yes dropout is good.
Forum Favs are Re-leaf, Christopher's, Dropout, Inland, Insense/Goldleaf

Be extremely careful taking narcotic pain meds with kratom.
Here is why!
Both are anti- diahuertics. Meaning if you take them together you are going to have problems moving your bowels. This can lead to impacted bowl & also constricted small bowel leading to a blockage.
This will land you in the ER and could cause surgery or even death.
There is no happy ending.

This is just my informed opinion. I am not a medical doctor.

Be careful...
Good Luck .....

I quickly searched for some bowel management topics- no luck under digestive issues for some reason-
They are more topics I will link if I can find.
I don't have constipation with Kratom but I eat a bowl of okra everyday which is another story why. You will not have bowel backup if you are eating okra everyday.

I’ve been hoping somebody with more chemistry education would answer this post. I’m not qualified to explain it properly. I’m answering now in the hopes of maybe waking up this valid question.

I do know that extract is not multifaceted like leaf powder and it’s really lacking if not mixed with lots of leaf = enhanced kratom powder. <—-that’s the one to try for a pleasurable/helpful experience.

Extract by itself is very effective for acute pain relief. So it has its purpose. No mood lift, no “euphoria”. Straight acute pain treatment and only for short term acute pain.

Utilizing it more often than plain leaf eventually makes you REQUIRE it and the strength of the relief fades with repeated use. Then it’s barely effective and THEN WHAT? More more more is not the right answer.

Extract is super unique as to how it was made and who made it with what powder and water/alcohol/etc. No two vendors have the same type. Ever.

Where to get coupons...that’s also unique to vendor right now (in between holiday specials), although Groundhog Day would be a good reason for a discount code eblast to customers. Super bowl Sunday would be a good reason to post a special discount code...

I haven’t gotten a simple list from the APPROVED VENDORS to display on the Bulletin Board. It’s a goal of mine...

For now, look around at websites you find on the list (or elsewhere) and email the vendor(s) of interest to you, or use their CONTACT US page to inquire about a discount code for ILK members (and lurkers). Often times they will make one if they don’t have one active.

Some of the high volume extract shops have discount codes posted EVERYWHERE and basically they have a set price since the codes never expire. Some post on Twitter. Nothing changes with those ads.

I have been happier with “enhanced fusion” such as what Online Kratom has. Its not inexpensive l, but they are masters of the art of blending.

I haven’t tried Jim at Top Extracts’extract, but his reputation is way above par., and his powder is also. I just haven’t tried anything in his current supply, but EXTRACTS is what he does!
I welcome anyone who can vouch as to Jim’s extracts to comment please.

I mix my own “enhanced fusions” now, also. I’m as untechnical as it gets. I use MUCH LESS in my bag of leaf than what vendors use. It’s a very light sprinkling of less than 1/16th of a TEAspoon per bag of approx anywhere from 25-100 grams. I also sprinkle black pepper extract and turmeric in the bag of leaf powder. LABEL IT PRECISELY and use AS NEEDED for occasional pain issues.

My resources for extract have varied. EZ KRATOM had the nicest quality of straight forward extract and his discount code is at the top of the VENDOR PAGE in an ad banner. USE ILK FOR 10% OFF...

PDO comes to mind. I would suggest you check what his current stock is because he gets rare product and it sells fast. You’d be smart to be on his newsletter list for CURRENT BATCH updates.

I hope some more folks will see my pathetic post and clear up the mess I made of an answer.

How’s things going with you overall, maachu?

All of the above is more for advancement in use after years. Hopefully you are not nearly ready to start complicating things so early in your journey.
Laurie
