I saw kratom mentioned on Reddit for IBD symptoms and it was mentioned for pain and diarrhea in FB groups. My son's friend got me Jackson's Kratom Green Malay. He is a biochemist so I guess he knows what he is doing. I didn't know where to buy it or what strains to choose. I think the kratom may be helping. At first I didn't see any benefit with my symptoms but I noted I was in a better mood and I wasn't looking for that. I realized I wasn't taking enough. I use capsules, so assume I need at least 4 500 mg capsules for a dose. The first time I saw relief I think I had 5 capsules = 2500 and then I had 3 more a few hours later. I also tried Cat's Claw which is supposed to have the alkaloid in kratom that slow diarrhea. I have a j-pouch, if you know what that is, so I spend more time on the toilet than anywhere else. But I didn't take any kratom today and this is the first time I was able to go to a doc appt and not need to use the bathroom. I am looking for pain relief from neuropathy due to clots and pain from the j-pouch. I am looking forward to trying the red strains so maybe I can sleep. Pain and the bathroom keep me from sleeping.

Welcome to the best kratom forum ever, Princezz.

Kratom is a very good idea for your condition(s). So glad you found us.

The beauty of the plant is exactly how you describe it. Hardly noticeable but VERY SUBTLE and HELPS A LOT if we pay attention.

You guessed right about the dosing. Other meds can interact or interfere with it. What are/were you using for pain? Kratom is like chocolate is in the brain. Taps the same receptors as opiates that people continually overdose on.

Kratom has a ceiling effect and cannot be overdosed.

It CAN be blocked from being much help by opiates, especially the newer ones like suboxone.

Really glad you found us, but knowing a scientist WILL SUFFICE, HAHAHAHA

My doctors gave me a non-refillable RX for Oxycodone following my surgeries and when I had pouchitis, but they refuse to prescribe a narcotic long-term or even provide refills. The opiate crisis has made it nearly impossible, especially for a home-bound person like myself to even fill narcotic or other restricted Rx. The ER doc wrote me a script for oxycodone on a couple occasions and a script for a few Ativan for sedation for an uncomfortable test. My husband had to drive down to UCSD 40 miles to pick up my RX because CVS refused to fill it as the doc who wrote the RX wasn't on his list, whatever that means. Also, at other times CVS wouldn't fill the RX until they could verify with the doc who wrote it and it is nearly impossible to get a hold of an ER doc or hospital attending.

I tried Paragoric for a few weeks and it seemed to help the diarrhea but it gave me horrible reflux and later nausea and vomiting. Paragoric is a narcotic mixed with high octane alcohol as part of the formulation. The narcotic is the active ingredient in slowing diarrhea and treating pain, so I don't know why I need several shots of the sort of alcohol I would never drink too. Paragoric also has a horrible anise flavoring that is very hard to cover. Also, I like to use weed and can't use it with alcohol.

I have had trouble obtaining kratom and am out of it. I only want to take capsule. First the website on the bottle didn't work and when I called the message said the person hadn't set up their voicemail. I tried Kraken Kratom as a poster on the neuropathy forum said he used their product and was satisfied and others agreed. But when I called they said my CC didn't go through with this Florida company and they didn't know why, so I assume they don't take debit cards. I next tried Botanical Kratom, recommended by The Kratom Bible and a couple YouTube guys. My cc also didn't go through but at least they figured out that it was because they are using a Canadian bank and my bank blocks international charges unless I inform them in advance. I called my bank who told me they would call the supervisor and the cc should work in a couple hours. I spoke with Botanical Kratom and they were very nice and helpful, even calling me to tell me when they put the charge through. My bank said they would keep the international charging open for a few days in case I had any trouble. So far my bank still hasn't been charged the $100 plus tax. I am not happy about waiting 7-10 days to receive a shipment from Canada when I am out of the kratom and it was actually helping me. My son who lives in Poland now really wants to help me with my health problems and he said he would order it for me and pay on his cc, and have it shipped to me. He tried to see if his friend who lives nearby could get him more, but he hasn't heard from him. My son's friend the biochemist has experimented with creating his own drugs. One poster here recommended a supplier called "Real," something, but their menu didn't list capsules. I assume there are several reputable companies, but it seems I am having so much trouble. I explained my ailments in a hopefully entertaining manner here www.facebook.com/claire.bennett.9210/posts/10218431903770274

Princezz, welcome to the ILK Forum. You can learn a lot by going to the Forum index and finding a vendor with good reviews. I have Crohn's disease so I am somewhat familiar with the pain and the struggles you are dealing with. If you decide to use Kratom you will find it helps out a lot in handling the pain and slowing down your bowls. Kratom is a definite anti-Diahuretic. My advice is to order Green, Yellow ,and Red strains of Kratom. They will all help with pain and as a side affect you will feel good. I can't express in words how great it is to have Kratom instead of Painkillers. You won't need Benzodiazpenes Kratom will have anti-anxiety and positive mood boost.

I recommend you put several different orders in to a few of the approved vendors. Spread you kratom choices out. Don't order a lot of one strain until you have tried it and know it will help. Some times strains are hit or miss and that is for everybody.

I have ordered from Canopy botanicals(make sure you use the word "Speciosa" in the search or you won't see the Kratom), PA Botanicals, Re-Leaf LLC. Also I have had success ordering from Insense Botanicals, Gold Leaf.
Red, Green , and yellow are strains that help with pain. I suggest you order several strains from different vendors. You will see the ones you like and then you can reorder from your favorites or keep trying new vendors. I use e-check to pay for my orders through the vendors. Credit Cards may not be accepted by most vendors. I trust the ones I have mentioned above.
Do your homework, you will learn lot from people on this forum. Best way to educate yourself is by using Forum Index and reading other posts on what questions you have or what topics you want to know about.
Avoid at all cost buying from Smoke-shops and most overseas vendors. The vendors on the approved list are local and can be trusted.
Good Luck....

If you have to have capsules right away. These are not approved vendors but I have ordered capsules from them Kratomcapsules or Happy Hippo Herbals. Good customer service and kratom.
Good luck

Capsules instead of powder just limits your choice of vendors.

Credit card processing is hit and miss right now, industry wide due to misinformation in the media and a guideline they (cc processors) had years ago that is still being enforced despite the guideline being found completely useless. Debit cards won’t work with ANY vendor, but your checking account tied to that debit card will be quite adequate. You simply provide the routing number and acct number instead of the debit card -= same result.

Serenity Botanicals carries capsules, I do believe. Online Kratom also sells capsules. Catspaw1955 uses one vendor for her caps for $250/mo. I’ll look at the vendor she uses with very good results.

Here’s a recent post from her regarding capsules:

“an oregon vendor SUNSTONE ORGANICS is just fabulous, they have their own phone number, and you actually get to talk to a live person, 541 972 3327 they are in springfield oregon, and they have a webpage sunstoneorganics.com they are wonderful”

I’m pretty sure PDO carries capsules.

Laurie, so do you think Botanical Kratom in Canada is no good? Maybe the guy who wrote the kratom bible who highly recommended them gets a kickback as well as the Youtube guy? I dunno. I know it is like weed, there are the better suppliers and the better product. I wonder if kratom suppliers are fly by night like some weed services. I was surprised that the bottle I have the site didn't work and their phone system isn't set up. I will check out the ones you mention, and maybe that was why the Florida place Kraken Kratom said my cc didn't go through, but if they tell you that you can pay via cc on the site it doesn't make sense that they don't take this. I don't use PayPal and have done bankchecks to pay our utility bills but don't use it for other purchases. I was concerned that some may have poor quality and I don't know how to judge especially I want to use capsules as that seems tolerable. I also was concerned that there are phony businesses that charge your card and don't send the product leaving you to hassle with your bank. The COD would be impossible as they want a bank check or something I have to go somewhere to get. I guess I am so used to ordering on amazon and other online merchants that I wasn't prepared for a major stresser. Thank you for the recommendations. I did want to try a sample pack that some offer to see what works best. The red strains that are more sedating appeal to me. I don't use benzos, just for uncomfortable procedures like having an enema while I am on the CT scan. I have UC, but after 5 years of a tolerable life while not in remission, I got very sick and couldn't eat for 8 months and lost more than 60 pounds. I was overweight, so now I am normal weight. I was constantly in the ER or admitted to the hospital and once spent a month in the hospital. I had a hole in my colon, c-diff and other stuff. I was on TPN and needed blood transfusions. I tried Remicade but it worked for about 6 weeks and then failed. I really fought the surgery. I wanted to die rather than have a bag of shit attached to me except porforation and rupture is an awful way to go. I had two more surgeries after the illeostomy and now I am among the 30% that are dissatisfied with the J-pouch. The positive experience with the kratom was encouraging that I could improve things without drugs with awful side effects. I take Benedryl with the kratom just like I did with opiates as I think it makes me itch in the same way morphine and oxycodone. does. But that is no problem. Prednisone made me crazy and I couldn't sleep. If kratom can keep your symptoms to the point you don't need surgery, that is amazing. I hope more research is funded with kratom. Thanks so much for your advice.

I like a place that is nearby so shipping should be easier. I live in San Diego, but not the city as it is banned and they can't ship to the city, but I live North in the suburbs.

Having quality kratom is key some links to help.

I have not bought from these vendors but they are either on the approved list here or been reviewed by a forum member.
From the approved list-
kratomdivine.com/products/kratom-caps-56-capsules-1
kratomkrates.com/product/kratom-powder-capsules/
thekratomconnection.com/kratom-capsules/

Reviewed here-
www.oregonkratom.com/
buy.sunstonekratom.com/

Your vendor could be fine these are just options for you.
You live in Ca.
If you are open to check out powder
I recommend Goldleaf/Insense Botanicals.- able deliver if you are in the area of Placerville, CA 95667, El Dorado County, or Sacrament
Also might want to check out Socal Herbal Remedies (need to type speciosa in search bar to get kratom list)they have caps but seem to out of stock currently.
All of the above are on the approved list or reviewed by this forum.

Kratom seems to have positive results and you have a basis of a working starting dose you need reliable vendors that sells caps.
I hope that some of the above helps and you can find good place to order that accepts your payment method,

Welcome to the forum and please ask any questions you need this forum will guide you,

As you find your way I hope you start to try to make your own capsules. Once you get some experience, it does not take too much time to do and it really is a lot cheaper to buy Kratom in powder form so you will also save money. Of course you have to invest in the capsule maker and the capsules themselves but they are relatively inexpensive.

Just like opioids Kratom binds to the mu receptors in the bowel and causes constipation. This may be beneficial for you, but for most people it presents a real challenge. I find that Kratom is much better at slowing down the bowels than any opioid I ever took.

I hope that you have been counseled to take probiotic supplements to creat a beneficial microbiota in the bowel. Imbalance in the bowel bacteria is present in all cases of both UC and Crohn's disease.

www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5757125/

With the j pouch you have many challenges in managing your bowel elimination...I am glad that so far kratom has been helpful for you.

We will all help in any way we are able, but it really is a big experiment.

Laurie likes to call us all mad scientists!

BTW the itching related to kratom use should go away as your body becomes more familiar with it....mine did! it is also essential to keep yourself hydrated BUT you probably do that as it is essential for managing the pouch situation.
