Been on norco for over 15 years, watched a special last night on TV about kratom. Very interesting never heard of the plant. I would love to get off the narcotic and use kratom. Have ordered some online but had to use a E check would not take a credit card have no idea how long it will take for check to clear. I drink alcohol moderately maybe once a week and the narco don't bother me with alcohol. This is with getting my liver enzymes every 6 months or earlier. Has anyone had trouble mixing the kratom and alcohol? This would be a blessing to get off the narco.

Welcome to the best kratom forum ever, Big Dee!

You found the right place for getting off norcos AND probably booze.

I’m a recovering addict and am happy to offer support and guidance.

It’s a big commitment and you gotta really want it because kratom is kinda a pain in the as$ compared to the ease and predictability of opiates.

I’ve got plans most of today, so I cannot give you my usual rundown. But it’s all been said here before and the SEARCH button on this website will be helpful for you.

Be sure to read about managing bowels (similar to opiates - hugely important to review) and staying hydrated is important, too! Kratom is a diuretic like coffee and one must supplement with salt and/or preferably electrolytes.

Use key words like “opiates”, “detox” etc to do some research on your own (if you aren’t willing to read up on the leaf, you are definitely not ready yet).

The fam damily here is freaking amazing and everyone is UNIQUE in how the leaf helps them and they will ALL be welcoming you soon.

Most weekends and holidays are kinda quiet around here BECAUSE KRATOM GAVE US LIVES TO SPEND WITH THOSE WE LOVE. So use the time to read up on Paul’s blogs above that are dated material but still fully applicable today.

So glad you finally heard about the leaf AND found the best kratom forum ever! I cannot think of a more helpful group (virtual) for taking a turn in your journey.

Happy Sunday!
Laurie

Hi Laurie, I will search as you asked, I certainly don't want much to do with a PITA. The Narcotics don't bother me in anyway besides my own feelings. I will not participate if this is like a AA meeting. I just asked a couple of simple questions. Please don't take this the wrong way.

I'm up for advise but I already ordered it and don't want no hassle's. I'm a disabled veteran and don't socialize with the general public all that great. I thought the scientists done a pretty good job referring to the plant. Please if anybody thinks I have a attitude please don't respond.

I'm already discouraged by the friendly response.

Hey Bigdee,
Nice to make your acquaintance,

I was already off norcos by the time I found kratom.... but would always welcome a opiate because they lowered my pain some and helped me to almost feel normal... since finding kratom.... I could care less about pain killers !! ( I used to take 8-10 10mg norcos a day for 2-1/2 years and always welcome most opiates because of chronic pain , I stopped one day because it was time, my choice )

The time I found kratom I was on antidepressants and anxiety meds .... kratom helped me through the WD’s and now I’m pharmaceutical free and a true believer in the properties of kratom... changed my life, saved my life ..

As far as booze ( for me ) goes, I’ve always been the type to either have a few beers or be fine without it.... but always would rather have a few than to not ...

I mixed kratom and alcohol with no problems, is it a great thing to do?? Probably not the best but also not the worst... ! As I’ve been utilizing kratom every day for 2 years the “ beer is good all the time “ factor has lessened by like 75%..... I’m happy with a beer but kratom helps me to feel much happier .... and sometimes I’ll have a few beers and never have any issues arise ....

Be smart , safe and responsible by doing your research ..!!
the more well informed we are about herbs/ medicines we choose to take .... the more wisdom with how to utilize it the best you can..!!!

Welcome again my friend, don’t hesitate to ask any questions you may have , one of us should have some info to helping find the answer ..... or will have a few folks actively searching , as a team , as a family .. GO TEAM KRATOM !!!’ Hahahahahaha, sorry got a little overzealous there!!!! Lol

Hope to see you here more !!!! Cheers my friend (L)

hey big dee!

im glad you are interested. frankly everyones experience is different. I personally don't drink much but I can do the leaf and alcohol if I space them about 4 hrs apart. my husband can take the leaf and wash it down with a beer and be fine. even after a few, but that doesn't happen often.

no one is pushing you to do anything you don't want to do. we are all a little sensitive to our own personal journey for our own reasons. this is a very encouraging non judgemental forum. please feel free to ask away. we are here to help. I would replace your 'doses' with the leaf and see how your body reacts to it. what kinds did you get? 'typically' reds offer the most pain relif but most make me sleepy. most greens work well for that too.. oh im getting ahead of myself.. welcome.. happy to have you here

I take kratom daily and enjoy gin and vodka moderately. Gin maybe less moderately.
Almost two years taking kratom and my blood work is normal.
If this answers your question?

Only one concern about liver and kratom its not alcohol related. A very small amount of people have an adverse reaction to kratom that effects the liver that is reversible simply by stopping kratom.

Welcome to the forum. Non judgmental group of leaf lovers and we will be glad to answer every question you may have.

Thanks for the info with your experience with alcohol and kratom. I hope the kratom will help with anxiety maybe I can do away with klonopin and lexapro.
