I've noticed looking at all the pictures the white, green, and red kratom is all green. Why's that?

That’s because the leaf itself is green with all Kratom varieties. It’s the central vein in the leaf that will be Green, Red, or white.

I think that Kratom vendors use stock photos on their websites. It is quite likely they do not actually take a photos of every patch of every strain.

cybin_spores is correct too, The color of the strain has nothing to do with the color of the leaf..so once the stem and veins are separated out, most of the kratom leaf powder is green.

Almost all of my Kratom is varying shades of green or greeny/yellow with the exception of a batch of Red Bentuangie I recently got. It is very red.

I’ve also got some reds that were more on the brown side as well.

I could be wrong but I think sometimes vendors manipulate the color of their stock photos in order to avoid confusing the customer.

For example - having a picture of Green MD next to Red MD that looks exactly the same - both GREEN powder - was confusing to me when I first started searching online.

The ones that are a much darker brown are often bentuangies. From my experience, the easiest way to tell is by the creamy slight soapy flavor that Bents have. Yellows sometimes seem to have a more earthy or bland flavor and the normal cures have the hay bail semi astringent flavor.

I have seen a some vendors post about some distributors dyeing there kratom. I was also warned about it from an acquaintance that I have whom has a long time friend in the business for over 20 years. I am a bit leary about any kratom that is bright red. That doesn't usually happen in nature unless the tree has died, been receiving/fed to much nitrogen or going into hibernation such as the maple leaf. Also they may have just cut the whole branch off and cured it that way. That is not a sustainable process obviously. When I mean bright red I'm talking like, "skittles" candy dye red.
Mabye Joe from re-leaf can confirm or give his input on this.
For me If it doesn't look nature did it I tend to avoid it.

While we're on the subject, I'd like to clarify something about Golds and Yellows because I can't keep it straight:

Golds are actually RED VEIN but just dried differently

Yellows are...... ? what vein?

Consensus on the net is normally a fermented white vien. All boils down to the distributor honestly. Tones the unbridled energy (jitters) whites often provide.
Yellows and whites and golds are my least bought strains honestly.
A good topic on that here.

Thanks on all accounts, Roadie. I knew there was a thread on here but couldn't find it again. (Okay, I obviously didn't try hard enough.)
