hi all...I am confused by some wording that is used by many K vendors. They describe, and is often noted in reviews, the term "euphoric". I am wondering (if it doesnt violate forum rules) if any of you could share with me what that means to you, if you have ever experienced it after ingesting K? Am wondering as I dont want to get a strain that makes me feel stoned or anything. What does that feel like to you, if you can put it into words?
That said, if you have experienced it, what strains brought it on for you, and at what dosage?

Hi and welcome missred. That WORD?!! :-o

It’s a poor use of the word. It’s used to get customers seeking euphoria. In poor taste and the vendors are starting to get together AS ONE to stop misleading information.

Euphoria can be used in relation to the first time one tries kratom after never having taken an opiate. That feeling is like kratom “virginity” and there is only one first time.

That “euphoria” is found to be the description of: “FINALLY, pain relief” for most of us.

What sort of purpose brought you here? Be specific. If promises of euphoria brought you, stay and see if you agree based on some journeys documented here.

Getting off opiates for good makes me EUPHORIC, but I don’t FEEL any different.
But I am proud of that and DID FEEL IT at the time, but it wasn’t euphoria until much later, after months and YEARS. Still not a noticeable “euphoria”.

Sorry about that word. Maybe someone else can explain it better. Hope you find what you’re looking for, missred. You found the best kratom Forum ever!

Which vendor are you looking at? I’ve seen it used on websites, and it’s not helpful. That is false advertising and vendors CLAIMING euphoria with their products are either lying or possibly adding other products to the powder.

Avoid the vendor using that word to describe their products.

As Judge Judy would explain it, ““euphoria” is a state of mind and you can’t speak to someone else’s state of mind”.

Also she says, “if it looks like a duck, it’s probably a duck”.

Kratom CAN BE a miracle cure for many ailments, but euphoria is

A STATE OF MIND from WITHIN.

Green leaf powders offer a bit of mood lift, and I prefer it to SSRI’s for my depression. But I’m not suddenly “giddy with joy” after taking it, more I’m more ABLE to take a walk, etc.

Thanks again Laurie. I am not LOOKING for euphoria, nor am I looking to get high or get help w/ withdrawal symptoms. Pain relief is nice. I know what you mean about the relief from pain can feel like euphoria. Just curious as to what others would describe their experience, if anyone had one to share, that might be other than that. And agree, if I could walk further than a block, without pain, I would feel pretty darn euphoric :D

I have NEVER experienced anything even close to euphoria with Kratom and believe me I could use some of that!

When I want to relax and zone out, a good martini does the trick...but NEVER anything like that from Kratom.

New users sometimes feel a slight rush as the alkaloids hit the brain (like when your cocktail kicks in) BUT it is very short lived (sometimes only a minute or two) and once the brain gets used to it, then it no longer happens.

Some of the literature talks about euphoria from Kratom only because because it lands on the opioid receptors and therefore people assume it IS an opioid...IT IS NOT!

The BEST part about using KRatom for pain relief is that there is no impairment, therefore you can drive and operate machinery, and even perform your job tasks with accuracy.

Of course if you get pain relief then EVERYTHING in life is better.

I do like the "non-impairment" part. I can see how I could maybe burn some to try and get back in the gym. I have identified a couple that make me really sick tho at 2 grms :D

When I started using Kratom, 2 grams of a white could make me quite sick but not anymore.

Welcome to the forum! I used Kratom in all the wrong ways when I started because I too had heard about euphoric effects. I was afraid to use it at work even though that's where I really needed it ,so I was using too much in the evenings hoping the effects would carry through to the next day. I won't go too much into it, but sufficient to say those experiments didn't work. Just start with small amounts (like half to one gram) and learn what dose works for you.

Actual Definition of euphoria: a feeling of intense excitement and happiness.
What I think kratom marketers want it to mean: heady, trippy feeling like you're high.

To me, when vendors describe a strain as euphoric, I expect it will be energetic and able to produce a cheerful mood. I expect that I might get a feeling like a "head rush" or a bit of a loopy feeling from it, so I use caution with my dosage to prevent that. White strains are, in my experience, the most likely culprits.

I'm not a euphoria-chaser, and I hope usage of the word in relation to kratom will continue to decline. Sometimes I enjoy strains that help with a cheerful mood and some modest energy, but I don't want to run around dancing in the streets or hugging trees or something. For me, greens are most likely to help me with that, but it's tricky because some greens give a cheerful energy, and others give a productive or motivating energy. Cheerful energy is fun for a concert or outdoor event. Productive energy is good for a day of housework or paperwork.

I keep a kratom journal to note what effects I get from a particular strain----"2 grams of white/green/red bali mix is great for a music event" or "green malay for housecleaning day"

Thanks so much for this, dragonteller. I have plowed thru a lot of reds at this point an am starting to try some greens. I did my usual dose of 2gm as a starter dose for White MD and that was a huge mistake  Its kinda hard to just dose a green to find out the effects as they dont do as good a job on pain relief. So far the greens are kinda meh for me singly but I do like mixing them with reds for a smidge of energy.I'd like to find a green/white that gives me loads of git-er-done energy w/out puking :woohoo:
I need to start a journal as well.
Question for you blenders: Do you use your usual dose of a red and then add in a little on top? Or do you reduce your red amt? AFter that WMD experience I am leery, to be sure. RESPECT THE POWER OF THE K
