Hi Everyone
I have a chronic pancreas condition for over five years now, and have been taking kratom most of that to live a normal life. I take about 5-7TBS per day depending on pain. I take kratom for the mild pain relief without fogging the mind. At least that is the kind of kratom I'm used to, and looking for. I was looking for a new vendor a few months ago, and found this excellent site. Since then I've placed three orders with vendors I've found on ilovekratom.com based on reviews:
From each I ordered 1 250G Maeng Da, and 1 250 Green Bali. However, and maybe I'm doing something wrong, I cannot tolerate any of their product. I cannot concentrate, and I feel loopy for hours. The effect is very annoying, and not like any kratom I'm used to. So my question is - are there diff. types of kratom (i.e. diff kinds of meang da), and do they need to be ingested differently? I've tried taking smaller samples (like 1/2 tsp), but I still do not like the effect. As of right now, I would not recommend any of these vendors.

The only vendor you mentioned I am familiar with is kat's only from a recent review.
Is this your first time trying these greens strains or is it just a vendor switch? What you described I get from white strains and I rarely use them. You already lowered the dose, put theses strains aside, you could try again later. When trying a new vendor its budget friendly to order the small sizes to test run the kratom. There are number of vendors that will send out free samples. I noticed none of these vendors are on the official list which doesn't mean not to try them but look over these vendors www.ilovekratom.com/kratom-vendors www.ilovekratom.com/forum/approved-vendors Maeng Da's there are different kinds its mean it premium and does not define which strain. Lowering the dose was a good idea, could try to go lower. Not liking the effect means you are going to have a kratom pile labeled "no fly". (term coined by beloved member here)

Welcome to the best kratom forum, pr0xyguy!
I have not had problems with Kat’s and would order from them because their product helps my pain and depression quite well. BUT we are all unique where vendor/strain/results are concerned. The only thing I would like to ask is: Did you really mean TABLESPOONS in your initial post? Those high doses would not be helpful for me - I would also feel sick as you described. Hoping that’s a typo. If not, that dose size is the issue. Keep us posted on how you resolve this? Laurie

how many doses per day? A Tablespoon is over 4 grams - depending on how tightly packed it is. A teaspoon is between 2 and 2.5 gm. If you are taking large doses it could be making you sick - MILD pain relief should not need high doses. AND if you are looking specifically for pain relief, the reds will have the highest concentration of the pain relieving alkaloids, so best to stick with them until you get this figured out. Taking Kratom on a empty stomach will allow it to be absorbed faster and you get a better effect...especially for pain relief. When you are in pain you do not want to wait! But other than that there is no difference in how the various strains should be ingested. BEV

Yes, Tablespoons
![]() I usually take 1 tablespoon at a time, with very little effect (no euphoria, etc). Only mild pain relief which is what I want, but I prob have a high tolerance? Anyway, thanks for the feedback. Let me lower the dosage, and I'll post a follow up. Nan70 - no I did not see that list, argh! Will use that next time. PG

When you vendor hop sometimes you will find a difference in the grind of the powder. If you are using a tablespoon to measure and pack it in and the grind of the powder is fine you will be getting more grams in the measuring spoon. This is when a scale comes in handy. Not everyone will use one but I recommend using a scale for accurate dosing especially when you are a higher doser.
Everyone is different but I get pain relief from these strains, Red Thai, Red Borneo, Red Indo. Red Hulu Green Borneo, Green Thai,Green Zereena The Reds I dose slightly higher and have better pain relief Greens I lower dose I am prone to nausea and headaches with them but they help me stay on my feet at work. Hope you find your Kratom sweet spot and strains that work for you.

I was taking too much.
So aparently there is some difference between vendors. Lesson learned - start with smaller doses especially when using a diff vendor. Kats Botanica is good.

As your body develops tolerance you can get used to larger and larger doses of Kratom without getting sick. Best guildeline is to use only as much as you need to get the effect you desire and then KEEP IT THERE! BEV
