PS - I don't get sick ever, myself. I was that way before Kratom but it's been even better with it.

That said, I think my fingers have been in my nose too much lately. It's been dry and bloody and annoying......(time of year) and so picking at it probably got something inside that it didn't like. (Gross, I know.)

Update - a few days ago I mentioned getting some Mucinex. Well, I didn't. Instead I got some over the counter medicine that had an expectorant in it.

Well, that didn't help much for the last few days. Maybe a little. Yesterday was a rough day. I woke up thinking I was better...but by 5 PM I was not feeling well - sinus pain in the face and head when I bent over, etc. I was seriously considering going to the doctor today, for fear it was a sinus infection.

(Several years ago I was getting sinus infections a lot and so now I always fear "how will I know?" when I get a cold.)

Once again I slept really well last night and woke up feeling pretty good. My sinuses were feeling better. At around 10:45 AM I decided to go the pharmacy - as I had a prescription for my wife and myself to pick up. I was actually in a decent mood during the drive and realized I really WAS feeling better. While at the pharmacy I decided to get some REAL Mucinex - Mucinex D - to help me feel better. I took it around 11:15 AM and have not looked back since.

Sure my nose is still runny and wet, but my sinuses feel so much better. This stuff is an OVER THE COUNTER miracle drug. (I've taken it many times before but it has been awhile.) It's amazing that Mucinex D can be bought without a prescription (and also used to make Meth) but the FDA wants to ban Kratom. LOL.

The solution? They scan your ID and make you sign off when you buy it. Great solution - not!

Since I’ve been on the Kratom regimen haven’t been sick in over a year... until 3 weeks ago I got hit with either the stomach flu .. honestly could have been some kind of food poisoning cause I was violently sick, horrendously so, after 24 hrs felt much better but totally drained and not at full strength for at least 3-4 days,

My entire family( 4 kids) will be sick through out the year but I’ve stayed unaffected, I do believe it to be from the Kratom keeping my immune strong, I don’t doubt it at all!

After the first day of not taking anything , I took my leaf and bam!! Felt the tremendous relief that I’ve come to love and value so much,

Damn lucky to have that around ,

Screw the government.. up with hope and down with the dope... unless ... jk, Kratom and semi regular micro brew, happy camper here

Back to the topic .. Kratom makes a body good, through and through , keeps one aware and health inspired

All good things

That’s a rap

You know to think about it I rarely get sick as well. I might get a cold or flu maybe once every 2 or 3 years if that much since I've been taking Kratom. I think Kratom has to boost the Immune System.

I have read that it does (or might) but who knows how legit that info is, right? WE are the testers of this stuff. :)

Somethingsacredgoinonhere - being ill sure does make you appreciate (and probably magnify) what Kratom does for us, doesn't it? Whoooosh!

Definitely on the mend today. Later tonight will be exactly 1 week from the early, beginning symptoms. 7-10 days is the approximate length of the common cold, so....right on schedule. I just hate those first 6 days or so.

From my understanding, out of the assortment of alkaloids, a few of them carry very potent medicinal properties. I'll list a few for you all:

Epicatechin: Antioxidant, antiaggregant, antibacterial, antidiabetic, antihepatitic, anti-inflammatory, anti-leukemic, antimutagenic, antiperoxidant, antiviral, potential cancer preventative, alpha-amylase inhibitor. Also found in dark chocolate

Isomitraphylline: Immunostimulant, anti-leukemic. < 1% of total alkaloid content found in Kratom leaf.

Isopteropodine: Immunostimulant

Isorhynchophylline: Immunostimulant. < 1% of total alkaloid content found in Kratom leaf.

Mitraphylline: Oxindole alkaloid. Vasodilator, antihypertensive, muscle relaxer, diuretic, antiamnesic, anti-leukemic, possible immunostimulant. <1% of total alkaloid contents in Kratom leaf.

Rhynchophylline: Vasodilator, antihypertensive, calcium channel blocker, antiaggregant, anti-inflammatory, antipyretic, anti-arrhythmic, antithelmintic. < 1% of total alkaloid content found in Kratom leaf.

From my understanding, consuming literal grams of the plant matter (if that is how you dose) would yield a far higher amount of these alkaloids, as opposed to eating a small piece of chocolate or brewing green tea with a tea bag. Imagine how much more of the anti-oxidants you would ingest if you were to eat 8-20+ grams a day of green tea similar to how we dose Kratom.

With this info, I'm not surprised we rarely get sick, and I'm also not surprised that I am more prone to getting sick during my t-breaks. As with most other things, I'd imagine after consuming so many immuno-stimulants and whatnot, there is also a rebound effect as my immune system returns to baseline without the Kratom, which leaves me vulnerable to illness for a few days.

edit: Glad you're feeling better Philly!

I do agree Kratom has excellent properties that help the immune system. I have said here often also its one of the best anti inflammatory plants I have used. I have spinal arthritis btw.
I have been taking Kratom for just over a year and had no major illnesses but I would love to give it deserved credit I really haven't been sick for over 3 years since I started using oregano multiple times a day. I used to get yearly severe sinus infections (now only annoying seasonal sinus drainage) and after I added oregano to a high anti oxidant diet I no longer have infections. I also put oregano on my cat's food.

bomalley wrote: BTW folks on the topic of upper respiratory infections (hope your feeling better now Philly), I have not had a single one since I started green juicing EVERY DAY (2013). Previous to that I spent 3 Christmases in a row sick for the entire month of December because of upper respiratory infections.

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this experience. I can't remember the last time I was ill and that's fantastic :-P

Definitely something good about the whole foods instead of single supplements. I suspect there are still many micro phytonutrients that are yet to be identified that we get in the whole food.

Glad that you have been enjoying good health too! It is amazing to me thow quickly people will run to the doc for a vaccine but would be reluctant to juice everyday! (I am NOT an antivaxer, just making an observation)
