I recently tried a Herb called Akuamma. Two of our ILK approved vendors sell this product. Gold Leaf Botanicals sells the 20:1 extract and PA Botanicals sells the powdered Herb.

I tried Akuamma alone and while it does kill pain there is no Mood Enhancement.

I found though that if I take it at night along with my Kratom it makes me sleepy and has very strong analgesic qualities. I don't like it alone but it goes very well with Kratom.

BTW I preferred the Extract from Gold leaf botanicals over that of powdered Herb from PA Botanicals.

I also use this herb for pain with good results. It’s not “fun” without kratom mixed in the picture, but pain relief is not meant to be fun. For analgesic relief of pain, I recommend it in caps from either vendor. Not inexpensive.

Another herb to look at for pain relief is incarvillea sinensis. Nan70 gets a lot of benefit from it, so I’m trying it again only capped. We had to shop outside the ILK APPROVED VENDOR LIST for that one.

Corydalis is also a great analgesic pain reliever with sedative side effects you’ll want to try at night.

I just got akkuamma and shilajit from in sense I trust this forum more than just generalized search. what is a good dose to start at alone without kratom? i do have a scale. I wanted pain relief on non kratom days and possibly helping a friend or 2. I know shilajit doesn't work for pain relief but if it helps with joints, cells, and battling free radicals im down! and laurie/ nan suggestions on starting dosage for incarvella would be helpful too, im willing to try!

This is my preliminary opinion take it with a grain of salt.

The Akuamma is tricky because the product from insense is a 20:1 extract. All the literature is for straight powder/ground seeds. I think I saw around 500mg - 5g recommended for the straight powder.

My first dose I went with 840mg 1x 000 capsule. 2nd time I went with 3 caps or 2.5g.

I need to do more experimenting but I'd start with 500-800mg and raise it if you don't get desired result . By the way it hit me in under 1/2 an hour. Also I didn't think there was significant difference between the effect of smaller and larger dose.
Both times I ended up contentedly sleeping in my chair!
I'll be back with more observations as I have this figured out.

I also use one capsule of akuamma. I got high dose akuamma caps with 600mg. I take one.

As for the incarvillea sinensis, I have no idea the mg, but it IS 20:1 extract as kratering said and I use one.

Neither one makes me sleepy or anything else. Just pain reduction. Corydalis is the herb with sedative qualities in my experience.

I’m using the akuamma and incarvillea while on the stem n vein (kratom break, basically) for pain issues and getting good results versus tylenol or an NSAID<—yucky

My Kratom alternatives-

incarvillea sinensis- I started at 1.3 grams and settled for 1.8 -2 grams
relaxing, soothes aches, only sedative when you stop activities
Corydlais- I took 2 grams I feel the dose is 2- 3 grams. Also sedative when you stop activity and sit, will bring on a nap. Relaxing mood lift. I took for pain prevention it helped.
Akuamma-from Insense I just got this, first dose yesterday. I was debating 250 -800mg but decided on 1.5 grams. I also took this as pain prevention, I need to try this again when I am in active pain. Jury is still out on this one.
Chuchuhuasi- least sedative, some energy, good anti inflammatory. mild mood lift. 2 grams

I felt the Akuamma 20:1 extract was very subtle. I only noticed that when I woke up I was in a mild cocoon of contentment.

I don't suffer from chronic pain so can't judge analgesicc properties.

As time goes on I'm finding that Akuamma becomes more effective. I think it's one that you can't judge until you've taken it at least 3-4 times.

I took 1.7g on Sunday afternoon and fell into a blessedly deep sleep that was so profound that I woke up after 3 hours and couldn't figure out if it was night or day. It seems to have a fairly short 1/2 life. Duration of effects around 3 hours. I'm going to hold up on taking it for a few days to avoid risk of addiction.

I'm feeling lonely on this thread so others that are taking it are welcome to chime in.
