Good morning everyone! I was just reading an article about Kratom and that bastion of free thinking people, liberality for all, in the state of Mississippi. It popped up on my smart phone. Clarion Ledger. A preacher, minister, claims his son was so addicted to Kratom that the "poor misguided lad" was spending $800 a week on Kratom. I'm now unable to get Dusty Springfields song "Son of a Preacher Man" out of my head! The preacher, minister, claimed that the "poor misguided lad" was jonesing so bad for the "opiate drug" that it sounded like he had to be put in a straight jacket! It made it sound like the "poor misguided lad" was mainlining Kratom. Damn! There's that song again.......

Is that even possible? To spend, for personal consumption, $800 bones a week for Kratom? And how many orifice's would a "poor misguided lad" have to pack it into?? Oh. And the article, twice I believe, calls Kratom an opiate 2 times.

Be blessed. The powers that be sure are gunning for this plant material.

I never get sick from Kratom, but in my experience once ur body hits a threshold taking more doesn't do anything but make me feel worse. Curious as to how much he was taking at a time. Article sounds like b.s. to me though..lol

Too bad the preacher didn’t bother to read up on what kratom IS before warning others about the wayward ways of his “son” (probably doesn’t have any kids, truth be told).

I have heard of people eating 80 grams a day, tho! I don’t know HOW or WHY. So there is THAT. Mysterious but apparently true.

I cannot personally ingest more than maybe 8 grams before puke city ensues.

...was spending $800 a week on Kratom.

?

He was buying from Happy Hippo.

With that level of consumption he turned into a green-skinned Martian.

This sounds a lot like like the previous post about some one spending $800/week on kratom.

I wonder if it is the same story that has changed with the telling, the same writer/reporter spinning it a different way, or maybe more than 1 person buying from the same overpriced seller. :woohoo:

The religious love to embellish. Frequently using “alternative truth” to relay their version of their particular god’s message. I don’t know definitively why this is, but it may have something to do with a need to have power over individuals. Most evangelical preachers, if the words of who they follow are correct, will most certainly end up separated from him in the end.

i've read numerous articles regarding this ridiculous drug task force going around Mississippi and gathering info for the propaganda to ban kratom in counties there since the State would not out right ban it.

they slipped up in one article and mentioned an $800 a wk habit. BUT IT WAS KRATOM SHOTS FORM A HEADSHOP..,not powder kratom.

obv. that person was abusing the shots.,which are expensive..,to get high. IF a shot is 20 to $40 dollars a shot it is easy to see how that adds up.

so roughly if a kshot is $30 and someone takes 4 shots a day for 7 days that a little over $800.

that is not hard to do at all.

Hello and good morning everyone!! Wow..... I had no idea whatsoever. Shots? I have another question. How shots? Like concentrated Kratom in a shot glass shot?? I have no reference point of knowledge other than I ran out of my red maeng da that I were mixing half and half with the red malay! That is the extent of my knowledge up to this point in time. Wow. So much to learn.

Be blessed everyone!

Robie. BTW. It really doesn't taste like chicken to me. It's like when you eat some rattlesnake? My grand pap always said: Go ahead! It tastes just like chicken!!!

I can personally attest to being aware that the “tastes just like chicken” is a phrase.

They use it when eating rats or bugs on Naked And Afraid on Discovery Channel. I’m not a regular viewer! Just familiar enough with the odd varmints they cook and eat, also tasting “just like chicken”!

We get it!

As for kratom shots, Yes, there’s extremely strong extracts out there that CAN get people into serious addiction if they don’t watch their step. Done repeatedly is simply another substance problem FOR SHORE!

There are people who chase the dragon and eventually blame the SUBSTANCE for the resulting problems.

Substances don’t CAUSE problems any more than cars drive themselves into trees.
