I heard from somewhere that if you mix turmeric w/ Kratom it can enhance effects. Is this possible? If so, what else can you mix for what effects?

Hi, just wanted to leave you a quick note on here. Others will probably have better info about how much, when etc but I will share what I know. Turmeric is known as a potentator (sp) in other words it is something known to enhance your kratom and jump start the effects. There are quite a few of them out there. I'm just learning of some of them myself. I know turmeric, grapefruit juice, other citrus and recent discovery a cola. To get the best effect however you do not need to mix it with your kratom. You need to take it about 30 to 45 min before your dose to allow it to break up the alkaloids it needs for maximum effectiveness. Again this is mostly new to me as well. I'm sure more will chime in with better advice. Take care and enjoy your day

I read the same thing per studies on turmeric with avoiding tolerance to opiates (kratom is not an opiate but an opioid).

Handy link Nan70 posted a few days ago explains it pretty well:

Turmeric. Yes.
I am a big proponent of this herb. Not just for its potential in helping potentiate kratom. I am not sure it has really outstanding noticeable effects. I think for sure it helps keep your dose the same or low , not needing to increase dosage for consistent desired effects from kratom. All my kratom doses I add 2 grams of turmeric powder, 500 mg of black pepper. I also have turmeric in tea. Turmeric is something I have been using for a long time to help inflammation.
Not all turmeric is created equal, if you noticed a search on Amazon will have it available as a supplement with bioperine, you will see curcumin complex and as a simple spice. I am not entirely sold that you need to take a fancy supplement with bioperine and curcumin complex, my sister is sold on these more pricey supplements they work for her knee arthritis. I buy quality powder from and local indo/paki grocery store as a spice and I add regular table black pepper.
The whole thing with turmeric is its not easily absorbed in the body. Its needs pepper or a healthy oil to make it efficient. So taking turmeric on an empty stomach no matter what form very little will be absorbed to gain any benefit. Turmeric is a great beneficial herb it just needs to be taken with food, healthy oil or fat-like whole milk, or black pepper.

"Alright. I'll get off my soap box now."

Thank for providing the link Laurie!! :-h :-bd

There are many potentiators of Kratom I will back and link you to the topics when I am finished work.

later!

I think the fancy mixes with bioperine are handy for those of us who are too lazy to make the mix and take it PROPERLY - more likelihood we will stumble into proper absorption by taking it AT ALL, ya know? I’m not a fan of curry dishes, either. Those who like curry are automatically more likely to benefit by just EATING LUNCH, for example.

It is a hassle to have turmeric handy and to dump it in every kratom dose. I have spent my share using magic erasure pads to rid the yellow stain off the counter and sink. For me I have the pepper, kratom and turmeric in the same area I am already making green strains with tea, moringa and kratom.
I was just telling someone whose husband is having problems treating arthritis about turmeric and she said she uses it in cooking . Unless she is cooking Indian cooking for three four meals a day there is no way you can be getting enough benefit from the turmeric.

I would have a much easier time cleaning the kitchen if I wasn't too cheap to buy my supplements in capsules. lol

Is anyone using the tumeric extract from In Sense? I'm curious as to what amount of their tumeric would typically be used to potentiate kratom?

Welcome to the best kratom forum ever, ihopethisnameworks! Good question...I can vouch only for the shilajit powder, incarvillea sinensis, and corydalis - all outstanding with competitive pricing so he’s my resource on those.

Laurie, saw the shilijat on there. Been looking into it to add to my botanicals. Thanks for the recommendations

Thank you, Laurie. And yes, his prices are superb. I only recently came upon his offerings and found myself sincerely impressed.
