I think you DID mention that. For some reason, my brain thought In Sense doesn’t carry it. Have you tried it in powder form?! Thanks!

yes thats one of the main reasons why I order from them so often, their 'other botanicals' selection is sooo good. and superior quality and concentration. and I have dabbled in other vendors and online services like etsy that guarantee authentic products, but rob and his crew will always have a spot in my heart! no separate shipping costs either!

and yes they only have it in powder form. be careful, like the leaf it can bind you up. figured that out today cause I didnt take anything else, and no k the other day or today, and no reds for quite a few.

Thank you SO MUCH for that info. Exactly what I was looking for.

I’m waiting to be paid and hoping to stock up. I have several shopping carts loaded and ready...

An interesting herb, I see. Lol, I can remember being vaguely aware of it for forever, and IIRC it was often one of the ingredients in the "legal highs" offered for sale in the back of underground newspapers, and similar places. It's one of the 50 main herbs of TCM though, and this wikipedia article is fascinating. If I order I might use Amazon as I get free shipping with them. I like supporting the smaller vendors, but I'm going to have to compare.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scutellaria#Constituents_and_pharmacology

Traditional Chinese medicine

It is one of the 50 fundamental herbs used in traditional Chinese medicine, where it has the name huángqín (Chinese: 黄芩).[2] As a Chinese traditional medicine, huang qin usually refers to the dried root of S. baicalensis Georgi, S. viscidula Bge., S. amoena C.H. Wright, and S. ikoninkovii Ju.
Pharmacology
Main article: Scutellaria § Constituents and pharmacology

Several chemical compounds have been isolated from the root; baicalein, baicalin, wogonin, norwogonin, oroxylin A[3] and β-sitosterol are the major ones.[4]
Names
It is important to use the Latin name, as the term 'skullcap' is used for over 200 varieties. Sometimes, Scutellaria lateriflora (North American skullcap) is mistaken for S. baicalensis. This confusion can result in the intake of the S. lateriflora variety which can be processed and contaminated with other plants at high enough levels to be of concern.

The main compounds responsible for the biological activity of skullcap are flavonoids.[9] Baicalein, one of the important Scutellaria flavonoids, was shown to have cardiovascular effects in in vitro.[14] Research also shows that Scutellaria root modulates inflammatory activity in vitro to inhibit nitric oxide (NO), cytokine, chemokine and growth factor production in macrophages.[15] Isolated chemical compounds including wogonin, wogonoside, and 3,5,7,2',6'-pentahydroxyl flavanone found in Scutellaria have been shown to inhibit histamine and leukotriene release.[16] Other active constituents include baicalin, apigenin, oroxylin A, scutellarein, and skullcapflavone.[17]

Some Scutellaria species, including S. baicalensis and S. lateriflora, have demonstrated anxiolytic activity in both animals and humans.[17][18][19] A variety of flavonoids in Scutellaria species have been found to bind to the benzodiazepine site and/or a non-benzodiazepine site of the GABAA receptor, including baicalin, baicalein, wogonin, apigenin, oroxylin A, scutellarein, and skullcapflavone II.[20][21][22] Baicalin and baicalein,[22][23][24][24][25] wogonin,[26] and apigenin[27] have been confirmed to act as positive allosteric modulators and produce anxiolytic effects in animals, whereas oroxylin A acts as a negative allosteric modulator (and also, notably, as a dopamine reuptake inhibitor).[28][29][30] As such, these compounds and actions, save oroxylin A, are likely to underlie the anxiolytic effects of Scutellaria species.

babel,

in senses skullcap is scutellaria baicalensis ( Chinese ) I did make sure of that, being the 'real deal' started small, cause its a 20:1 extract. very fine powder. its 4.80 /ounce or ill do the 4oz for 17.50 next time probably. yes it was a herb id 'heard of' cause of the many health benefits. but even if its a purifier, pain reliever, and anti inflammatory that helps me sleep im cool with that. but like you pointed out in the article it being 'top 50' makes me feel even better about it!

laurie, I hope you get paid soon to pull the trigger! know that feeling.. cant wait to try natures cure super green md in the morning before work!

I deleted my post as I'm not sure the deal I seemed to be advocating was as good as that of In Sense. It might be apples to oranges, with one extract being full spectrum, and the other totally refined to just one alkaloid. The In Sense deal is very affordable, even with shipping, I just checked that detail.

So far, so "pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty" good.

:)

Putting cocoa in my coffee for the win (ftw). I've got Dutched cocoa supposedly arriving today, I ordered the unrefined kind by mistake, but it's quite good, especially when I add some calcium to the mix to neutralize the acid (similar to putting an eggshell in your coffee).

I feel up to going to the gym, I'm just trying to coordinate that trip with other things. If I make it there for a good workout that will help in making KFF a big success.

As a one time thing I skipped my final/third dose of the day last night, and as an experiment I took "only" two grams total on Wednesday. Lol, I figured I owed it to the forum to make a good effort for this week's KFF. :)

P.S. I've been taking my usual laundry list of supplements, plus I added some new and exotic ones. More on that later?

I completely forgot about it this week! Have been feeling unwell and have gotten tolerance way down by skipping it, but I completely forgot about KFF until you posted! I just took first full dose since yesterday morning.

You’re setting a fine example and I put it on my phone with a reminder for next week. I I’m going to have Kratom Free Monday this week.
