Is the black pepper you mention the same as what is used as a seasoning?
I ask because my digestive system does not tolerate it well. It gives me the winds something terrible. So bad that I can't stand to be around myself. (nobody else can either) :woohoo:

Yes it is Tigger. The Black Pepper just helps the Turmeric to get Absorbed better & get more of it. You can still take Turmeric by itself & get the same effect but it won't be as strong without the Black Pepper. It will still work though.
If anybody has any Questions about Kratom please private message me or make a Post & I will be glad to answer as soon as I can usually within 24 hours if not sooner. I'm usually on really late at night Between Midnight & 5am.

I very recently started using a coconut oil derivative known as MCT (medium chain triglycerides). It's looking promising, but I can't swear to any conclusively substantial improvements in my Kratom experiences.

But if you asked me if I was very satisfied with my last three experiences, I'd say yes.

Woops, time for #4, gotta go!

Red Thai with teaspoon of coconut oil actually made it taste much less bitter.
About 34 minutes in and definitely a bit of a boost.
I am still experimenting and plan on starting a topic starring coconut oil.

When I get around to that topic, babel, can you try again to explain the ketosis effect it has??
I did notice after I added it to my coffee I felt like I had a 4 shot espresso. Whoa, was not expecting that.

Ketones are supposedly the brains preferred form of fuel, IIRC. Lol, though I keep hearing that from keto people, so grain of salt time.

I'll try to dig up some links regarding going into ketosis, though IIRC the long and the short of it is that eliminating carbs is supposed to get your body to not just burn fat, which any calorie restricted diet should do, but to start turning that stored fat into ketones, the burning of which is what gives the keto diet high, energy boost, loss of hunger pains/low blood sugar feeling, that people want.

So using coconut oil, MCT oil, is approached as a way to prime the pump by providing the body with ketones earlier than it usually would from the keto diet alone.

Dr. Atkins used to make a point that he wasn't advocating a high protein diet, though virtually everyone got plenty of protein from the Atkins diet, but a high fat, very low carb, diet.

Buried in his book was some other interesting stuff that mostly gets ignored these days. He also said that when you'd hit your ideal weight the new goal should be to have your diet and body in a state where you could easily bounce in and out of ketosis. So I guess you could also benefit from a mild boost of insulin now and again, and then get back into ketosis, maybe from a high fat meal and some exercise.

I'm starting a countdown for the time it takes for someone to market "Liposomal Kratom". :)

You covered Ketosis well. I’ve got a lot of experience with it. That balance is difficult to manage. Most pharmacies sell pee test sticks behind the counter that help to monitor where you’re at.

This is truly funny. I did a search on MCT oil and ketones, with some other search words, and the Ecosia search engine took me to the same site as the one in the link I posted above.

Laurie, best keto sticks I've used are from a helpful lady who also provides free documentation in a .pdf file.

Nurse Hatty manufacturers her sticks in the USA, and claims that they stay ready to use longer than the ones of her competitors.

www.amazon.com/Nurse-Hatty®-Ketone-Strips-Proudly/dp/B016Z5XZP0

Though after you've been in ketosis for months and months you might not find the sticks always showing positive, they might only show that in the morning for example.

It has something to do with your body adapting to a point that it burns a kind of ketone that doesn't register on the sticks, except when you are in away above normal state of ketosis.

www.reddit.com/r/keto/comments/2wsu0u/ps...stix_on_a_ketogenic/

Yadda, yadda, yadda, the sticks can be wonderful for when you first break through the wall of adapting to burning fat. They're also good for when you know you slipped out, and now want to get back into ketosis. Though if you'd been successful for a long time prior to that then the amount of time that sticks can work will be short. Your keto adaption should be quick, and the amount of time of burning the acetone that the sticks can measure won't be that long.

But even a keto guru could produce some acetone if they fasted long enough. This is what throws people off with the sticks sometimes as even though they are in ketosis the sticks show nothing so they "take it up a notch" and then the sticks show something. Lol, yeah, they showed you were starving yourself, and that means muscle mass got lost as well.
