I've tried powered extracts and for perhaps twice the price per relative dose they can offer similar results to standard powder. I've not tried tinctures but can see they maybe several times the price to compare with a regular dose.

With my own experience, although limited, but also reading up on the topic I can not see any reason to use anything but standard Kratom powder, other than taste which isn't an issue for me personally.

Why do others use extracts, whether powered or liquid?

Welcome to the best kratom forum ever, Kastner!

Great intro question!

I tend to agree with you. There are acute pain circumstances that may warrant using extracts or even tinctures, but one must expect some discomfort when discontinuing use because it makes the regular leaf virtually useless for a time, so weaning off can be more difficult than expected.

As a recovering addict/alcoholic, it’s absolutely not acceptable for me to use those products. But everyone is SO DIFFERENT. Thanks for posting the question so we can see some other opinions on the topic!

Hope you find this forum enjoyable and helpful/interesting!

hey kastner!:-h

hmmm that is a good question. I personally only bought one small bottle of tincture extract when Oregon kratom had them. had to add something small on to get free shipping :-bd it was reasonable, still have most of the bottle.. but I got it just to try it. no lumps ect..easy to ingest if your dose is traditionally bigger. but I agree with the veterans it can be a very slippery slope into a huge tolerance issue when nothing else works. I don't want that. I personally either blend strains for maximum effect, and/ or take other pain relieving herbals that synergize

I'm glad to hear similar reasoning so far. I suppose the limited alkaloids in many extracts vs full spectrum could be more likely to cause tolerance, similar to using only one Kratom powder rather than rotating.

I did think of another reason that may apply with extracts, constipation. I know this is affects some people with the powder.

This does seem like a great forum, I'm happy I chose it!

I’m glad you chose this forum, also! I absolutely agree with you about the constipation issue. That’s a big deterrent!

There ARE people who only use extracts or tinctures for various reasons and I’m hoping your post will stir more replies to help educate our perspective.

My way is only MY way, after all. :-)

To help with constipation i use flax oil gel caps at night before i go to bed
Some take 1 or 2
I take 5 each night
I dont have any problem now....
After the morning cup of coffee, things move as expected and i dont have to feel bloated etc...

An old timer told me of this

Its also important to use a cold pressed higher quality flax oil or it may not work correctly.

I wont mention brand names for the sake of advertising rules etc...
Best to all...... Always

Theres also a sale going on now with us. Look on the main page or vendor discounts.

I agree on the tolerance issue. Kratom is a gift, but there are cases of people getting a little crazy with it. I don't want to ever go down that path. My couple of grams a day does what I need it to. Great pain relief and mood lift.

Now I could see an instance with terrible pain where it could be an advantage. I would suspect that scenario would also call for opiate use.

The constipation thing is not an issue at all for me. Lots of fresh vegetables, aloe vera beverages and fiber supplements keep me on track

The only time I use Extracts is if I am in a lot of Pain. I very rarely use any Extracts or Enhanced Versions of Kratom. I think Kratom shouldn't be made that way because then Kratom isn't all Natural like Plain Leaf is. I just can't see anything Positive about Extracts or Enhanced Kratom other than how much you have to use vs Plain Leaf. Extracts can cause Tolerance Issues very Rapidly.
If anybody has any Questions about Kratom please private message me or make a Post & I will be glad to answer as soon as I can usually within 24 hours if not sooner. I'm usually on really late at night Between Midnight & 5am.
