I hear you about budget. Have you only the one type to use? I would definitely set that aside for nighttime pain and make something else - anything else.

I sympathize! That simply WON’T DO!

I don't know man.... vegans consume nothing but plant matter, I think it's all what one is used to. T/W is amazingly popular, the primary delivery method from what I can gather. The closest to t/w I've ever come is to dissolve a tsp. of powder in a few oz of boiling water and then top it off with a bit of cold milk and chug. But even then it gives me cramps. No - it's "tea" (ie: kratom water) for me. On another note: For anyone else who may be following this thread, I don't know what to make of this batch of red that I have. No mood lift, no "euphoria" - it goes straight to sedation. My last tub of red was not as sedating. I wish I had ordered Maeng Da instead. This happened some time ago, and I eventually adjusted. Maybe that will be the case going forward. I certainly hope so as I've blown my kratom budget for the month. Good day. (L)

I can't believe that you've never T&W'ed. It does take a good while to get used to the Taste & the Scratchy Powder in your mouth. It takes awhile to Perfect the T&W. I think that Tea is the Best way because I think our bodies are not made to Consume so much Plant Material day after day. I wish I could only use the TEA Method all the Time but I'm just so use to T&W & the TEA Method is not nearly as Potent when it comes to my Body. I will try to Perfect the TEA Method better when I do Make it.

I just tuned in briefly to a Sunday NPR radio spot ("Milk Street" I think) where two guys were discussing some tea that one of them received as his inheritance (!!) and he was dipping into it for the first time (for the show). It took only a minute of listening to this conversation to realize that what I have been making isn't tea at all but kratom water/slurry. Either that or this French guy who was breaking into his precious commodity is nuts (evoking mental images of "wood paneling, old furniture", etc. etc. He said "tea is about memories". OK, I get the idea. Tea is a big deal. That said, Laurie, you had it right expressing your respect for the tea tradition and technique. I'm exposed for the philistine that I am. Tea to me is Tetley/Lipton and comes in a bag on a string. By the way - this new batch of red I have is throwing me for a loop.

Steeping overnight works for me. Just bringing the water to a boil once and then removing the pot saves time standing at the stove and watching the pot so it doesn't boil over etc. Also, I'm going with the "don't fry the alkaloid" school of thought. You can always try adding a tbsp. or two more powder but I think there is a point of reciprocity where the water absorbs the limit of compounds, and you end up wasting kratom - (just a hunch, because I was going through a lot of powder). I have never "T&W" -ed. I learned my lesson a very long time ago when I attempted to eat a spoonful of chocolate "instant" pudding. Gag-o-Rama. Hey - but apparently T&W is very popular. Here is something else to think about: The more porous the filtering material (cheesecloth for example) the more solids get through so essentially you're drinking a certain amount of powder down (already "washed" if you will). I'm pretty new at this so don't take anything I say here as "Gospel". One more thing if I may bore these good people. In past posts, I've claimed all strains affect me the same. Well, my recent acquisition of "red" is noticeably sedating (a said characteristic of red). So much for that. ;)

So letting it sit overnight or at Least 8 Hours Would you Say Makes it Stronger. I'll have to try that.

Sometimes whenever I Toss N Wash my Kratom it Cramps my Stomach. That's the Reason I was starting to Switch to The Tea.

I'm not able to Drink the Tea all the Time. I have been mostly T&W it because I have to fine tune the Tea Making Process in order to make it Potent enough for me to Drink it more often.

Amen to that. Re: A more potent tea..... I followed my usual procedure (past post on this topic) but this time after stirring on and off for an hour I let the pot cool down overnight. In the morning I stirred some more then let the contents settle. When I finally filtered, I discovered that more of the powder had "dissolved" and passed through the fabric making a noticeably darker tea . definitely more potent too. . I also squeezed too much honey into the mix this time making it sickeningly sweet. But that's ok, it'll be gone by tonight. Did I mention that drinking kratom has all but cured my GERD?- (and that's with lemon juice from concentrate, go figure). Times past I couldn't lie down for the night without fist drinking some baking soda and water. Now, only on occasion.

Glad to hear you’re feeling better AND kratom is helping with the necessary wean off after using oxy properly. That’s NEVER EASY. But we are very lucky the AKA has kept this leaf legally available! Whew!
