Hi All,
I would appreciate your feedback on this:
Kratom is no longer controlling my pain as it used to and I'm wondering if you all think it is due to Kratom tolerance or that my condition is worsening. I have osteoarthritis in both feet, which make walking very painful. It has been progressing very quickly; the joint is indeed degenerating fast. I've only been using Kratom for a couple of months and have been rotating strains daily. I have about 10 different strains I rotate among (but only green strains). I cannot skip days as the pain is debilitating. I have been taking 1 teaspoon (a little over 2 grams) 2 times a day (I have never gone over this amount). Do you think it is possible I could have already built up a tolerance to Kratom? Or, it could be that my pain is just getting more intense and perhaps I need to increase my dose? Also, does the quantity of Kratom taken directly correlate to the level of pain control (would 3 grams control pain better than 2 grams?)
I so appreciate your advice!
Thank you!

Have you been able to determine if any of your strains are better for pain control than others?
For example one vendor's Green Borneo does not work long enough to control pain so I nixed this brand out of my rotation. I currently rotate only 5 of my best greens for the work day and switch to Red strains at night. You do not need to take 10- just rotate ones you know work well for pain.
Is Kratom not working well in controlling the pain or is it wearing off too fast?

Quick recommendations
Try Red Strains if you cannot have sedating Reds we can try to recommend less sedating Strains from vendors. But this will be subjective.
You can add any pain relieving botanicals to your kratom dose.
Add a saturated fat to your kratom dose, like coconut oil.
Consider your digestive health it might be blocking proper absorption.- stay hydrated, add a probiotic to your diet, solve constipation issues.

I am going to find some useful links hope they help.
Be back soon

Not like me to skip this TURMERIC(curcumin). Start taking this daily with or before doses it helps prevent tolerance. Most likely-(the science of it- www.ilovekratom.com/forum/health-and-wel...-knee?start=30#43130 )

My journey with treating painful tendinitis-

Top forum discussed other botanicals
Akuamma
Corydalis
Incarvillea

It your increase in pain is something like a flare. Try ice/heat and old fashion epsom salt soaks until it passes.

My daughter suffers from feet pain because of lupus but its not degenerating her joints but I know how hard it is to manage.

Consider some of the joint supporting supplements.
Look for -
GLUCOSAMINE
CHONDROITIN
MSM (METHYLSULFONYLMETHANE)
HYALURONIC ACID
COLLAGEN

Thank you for the replies:)
To answer your questions:
Have you been able to determine if any of your strains are better for pain control than others?
Some days one strain works great for me and other days it does not, so I cannot say if one strain is better.

Is Kratom not working well in controlling the pain or is it wearing off too fast?
It is not controlling my pain as it used to.

I would definitely add Red strains to your rotation. And a slightly increased dose with Reds.
Try a potentiator with your next few green doses.
www.ilovekratom.com/forum/kratom-discuss...start=0#.XW8X-ShKiUk

Consider intestinal issues that might be affecting your bodies ability to absorb the alkaloids. Maybe a short fast if you are able. This is kind of a long shot but I am worrying why some seem to hit a road block with tolerance.

You can consider increasing your dose to manage increased pain, and once under control you can see if you can taper back down. Kratom has options to adjust to these situations.

Others will input soon and see if they have better ideas to help.

I will get breakthrough pain rather than it not working at all but I do have days where I feel like oh no pain management isn't up to par.I haven't needed to increase my dose though.

Also I didn't ask is all your kratom from the same vendor. Its good to spread it around a few different vendors.

I really hope you find your solution.

Thank you for the tips, Nan. Yes, I take tumeric daily and take my kratom with orange or grapefruit juice, on an empty stomach.
I tried ordering from a new vender (also an AKA approved vender), but did not feel the kratom was very strong (it did not help much with pain). I may try experimenting more with reds though. I really appreciate all the advice!

bellacat.
Definately try what nan said.
Have you tried Incarvillea Sinensis?
I get the 20x extract from Insense and I think it works better for pain than most of the strains of kraton I have.
It helps alot with the arthritis in my hands and spine pain from multiple Surgeries but I can only take it during the day because it keeps me up at at night. Others here say it makes them sleepy.
corydalis and Chuchuhuasi also give good pain relief but both make me sleepy.
It might be good to give them a try to give your body a break from the kratom.

Welcome to ILK bellacat if I having welcomed you yet. There are just so many Variables when it comes to Kratom. I would first take a look at the amount of Kratom you are taking. Try taking maybe 2.5 or even 3 grams to see if that helps at all. My Usual dose is around 3 grams & no more than 4 grams. Then you can look at the Strains & compare how each stain effects you & write all that down in a Journal to keep handy in case you need it for referencing later one. Now look at if you are taking Kratom with or without food. Kratom works best most of the time with an Empty Stomach or about 2 - 3 hours after eating food. You can also add Potentiators to is about 1 hour before each dose. Next you can make an Order with a Different Reliable Vendor & compare the effects.

If none of this works for you then you need to take about break from Kratom for at least a week if you can. I wouldn't worry about Kratom Tolerance. Tolerance Problems only happens if you keep upping your doses usually. Keeping your doses the same is a good thing. I would not go any higher than 5 grams unless you are in a great deal of Pain. Usually 5 grams is the Threshold where Side Effects start to Overtake the Positive Effects of Kratom. It could be if you are using the Same Vendor for a long time that it's time to change Vendors because your body will get accustomed to the Alkaloid Content in that Vendor's Strains. You might need to change Vendors.

Also the Higher the Kratom dose the better the Pain Relief to a Certain Extent. I Recommend taking No More than 5 Grams unless you are in a lot of Pain then take a little bit more than that & only in Special Occasions. Also everybody will need a different dosage. Some may need more than others because they weigh more or because their body just doesn't absorb the Alkaloids as good. So don't be afraid to take a little more. Just keep your Dosage the Same once you find your Sweet Spot Dosage. You may need to get a Milligram Scale & try many different amounts in Milligram Increments to see if you feel any Change in Pain Relief. If you have anymore Questions don't Hesitate to ask. Good Luck Bella!
If anybody has any Questions about Kratom please private message me or make a Post & I will be glad to answer as soon as I can usually within 24 hours if not sooner. I'm usually on really late at night Between Midnight & 5am.

Mad Max,
Thank you for the tip about the Incarvillea Sinensis. I will try it! I'm looking it up on the Insense botanicals site and I see they only have the powder; how much do you suggest taking? With water or juice? On an empty stomach? I cannot find much information about it online so I really appreciate your advice!
Thank you!
Edit: Oops, I just realized the recommendation for Incarvillea Sinensis was from Tom, not Mad Max. Sorry, and thank you Tom for the tip!

Bellacat,
When I use the Incar I usually take 500mg to 1g for pain. I occasionally have gone as high as 1.5g but at that dose it starts to make me tired.

At 1am this morning I took 1g of the incar for bad hip pain. If it wasn't for the Incar and 1g of Red Kx kratom I don't thing I ever would have fallen asleep due to the pain.

I took another gram of the incar at 6am because the pain was coming back. It is now noon and the pain is coming back again but I forgot to bring some Incar to work with me.:(
