Anyway we could get this moved to the Kratom Extract Index? Laurie, was that your experience from using extract? By making your own, you should have a pretty good idea of the concentration level and adjust the amount down to get the same alkaloid dose as plain leaf. By doing this, I don't see how your tolerance is going to go through the roof the first time using it if you know what you are doing.

I tried it for the first time with 100 grams and let it sit in Vodka with a little lemon for 4 days, strained it through cheesecloth, did a hot water extraction with plant matter and combined together and dried in the oven on lowest setting. Surprisingly came out with 40 grams of resin which is 40% and 2.5X. Tried about 2g of it and did get some affects but not as good as a normal 4G dose of leaf. Upon doing some research, it thought I would get about 15-20g and 15-20% yield which would be more like a 6x which is what I was looking for. Any idea what went wrong to get a higher yield which is less concentrated?

Sooo.. totally didnt even know you could do this, and now im interested. I too, would love to know how to do this. Getting my dose 'compressed' to a tiny amount would be SWEET lol. I will take a look at the rest of this and the link that was posted :) #awesomejobcreatingyourownstuff

JdKrat,
I am interested to hear about how you can make an extract. There is some information on this forum that can help. About a month ago there was a thread on how to freeze kratom and get the extract from Kratom.

It sounds like you are having issues with taking your Kratom. I would suggest ordering some empty capsules and make your own kratom capsules to take and this will help.
Keeping your kratom as natural as possible has helped me get the best results.
I have found purchasing extracts is expensive and just not worth it. The experience isn’t the same.
I think you will find a lot of information on this Forum. Especially, when it comes to finding high quality leaf. There are some great vendors on ILK as well as discount codes.

Good Luck...

The main reason for making my own kratom extract is to get my regular 5-6 gram dose of Red Bali into a much smaller amount down to about 1 gram. Red Bali seems to work perfect for me during the evening hours after a hard day of work to relieve all my aching joints and is very relaxing but I can barely get the 6 grams of powder down because this strain seems to be the most bitter and bad tasting out of all the others. I even mix it with orange juice which I can do no problem with other strains but this red bali is hard to drink. Need to get it down to 1G dose and put it in capsules to get consistent dose and not worry about over doing it.

Welcome to the best kratom forum ever, JdKrat.

I didn’t move your post.

Hope you consider giving our forum a chance. If not, good luck with your project!

PS: where did you INTEND to post this? Just curious. We don’t have an “extract forum”.

Weird, the forum has been going through recent updates and there have been more than a few glitches, most have been resolved lately.
I was going to send you to this conversation to see if it had any answers you were looking for

I posted this in the kratom Extract forum and it got moved over here for some reason. Not impressed with this forum if it won't let you post where you want it to go!

What is a typical Alcohol & Water extraction yield amount? I tried it for the first time with 100 grams and let it sit in Vodka with a little lemon for 4 days, strained it through cheesecloth, did a hot water extraction with plant matter and combined together and dried in the oven on lowest setting.
