Hello, I will explain my background, maybe it will help.

I was prescribed Xanax by a family doc, was on 3mg a day for three years. Well, at first it was fine, then after 3 years, it actually made my anxiety worse. Even caused me to not want to leave the the house towards the end, going to the store etc. :(

Don't anyone take this stuff! I swear the devil passes it out! Well, big pharma, same thing!

Anyhow, I weined myself off, within a 6 week period! That was NOT fun, but I did it!! I have been off them for 3 months now. I feel much better, but having trouble going to the store etc. I get anxiety and panic when I jump in the passenger seat with my wife. Shes a good driver, so its not her LOL

I used to take a pill before to go to the store. But I refuse to take those ugly pills ever again. Okay, so anyhow...I apologize for the long story.

I bought some red bali, from a place, "don't know if I am allowed to name then", I don't think there was anything wrong with it. Good reviews from folks on reddit.

I only burned it once. I burned .05 gram, waited 45 minutes and burned another .05 gram, seemed kinda comfy, but nothing to write home about. Burned another .05 gram, total 1.5 grams in about 2 hours or so. Pow! Had anxiety, which almost brought on a panic attack!

For some reason, my body shut the panic attack OFF! That has never happened in my entire life, quite strange! :-? Okay, so I had some moderate anxiety that was not fun for about 4-5 hours. That was about a week go. I didn't try it again.

Was red Bali the wrong stuff to burn? I read online that Red Borneo was better for anxiety, and a better sedative to slow down the body??.... I thought Red Bali was too though from reading. I am honestly confused! Unless I didn't do it right, which could be a possibility with me. Too much, not enough? :-?

Anyhow, Hello to all here, and thanks in advance for any tips, or pointers. I just need help, the healthy way! :-h

Welcome to the best Kratom forum ever, Clyde64.

Have you tried the myriad of herbs more suited for anxiety as well? Kava, ashwagandha, valerian etc?

I use the leaf for depression (instead of SSRI) and pain. My anxiety issues are long and I typed a great post and it got lost when I had to log back in.

So. Now I’m out of time.

Short version. Honeymoon phase with kratom causes exaggerated results INCLUDING anxiety.

Anxiety is an emotion. I had agoraphobia for a YEAR and I had to TAKE THE POWER AWAY by thinking “it’s an emotion. I won’t die” along with BP monitoring heavily.

I pack an emergency Klonopin for emotional support. Don’t need to swallow it.

Quitting Xanax will probably cause MORE anxiety for a while. Just KNOWING it won’t hurt you makes it less powerful in the moment.

Finally, I would try a good green riau or green Malay to start rather than a red?

Try COB (Christopher’s ORGANIC Botanicals) for these as well as other ILK trusted and vetted vendors (see VENDORS above right).

Plan to have a better year. Starting now.

Hello... Thank you for responding.

Yes I do take Velerian Root, before bed.

I also take a supplement called Cortisol Health. It has ashwagandha in it. Only started that a few days ago.

I take kava capsules, but I think I need the real kava!

None has done anything for me unfortunately, I think my brain broke or something. I don’t have anxiety throughout the day. But usually if I’m extremely worried then of course ya know if I’m trying to go somewhere then I go into panic mode.

Honeymoon phase? I’m so sorry I don’t know what that is. I did have anxiety with kratom, but I’m being stupid or something. I have read numerous things on people that stated that it truly helped them, and get back out too.

I do have Xanax and did not throw them out on purpose. Not to take but to prove I can have them and not give in. I’m odd like that lol

That’s truly great that you got back out. I tried recently and had to pull over at the end of my street, the panic got so bad that I had to stop, was dizzy and light headed and could not focus. That was bad.

I seen everyone online from snooping saying by the red family was for anxiety. It’s so confusing, well I’m new to it.

I was going to take a higher burn level to 2.0 grams instead of small amounts a little at a time. But I worry that the anxiety will be really bad. I think the small amounts was causing anxiety instead of sedative effect. I could be wrong though, just thought that from reading.

I did see Christopher’s, I think I backed away because they didn’t do a debit/credit canard. Which was dumb on my part. I used kratomvirtue after seeing a bunch of folks on Reddit liking it.

Thank you for answering me. I’m on my phone when I get on my pc later I’ll check the vendors list on here.

I did read that Red Thai was powerful having a sedative effect. I see Christopher’s says the same thing on their website after looking just now.

I didn’t know they took e-check I missed that before.

Hi! I think that one of the most important things to realize about kratom is that everyone is different as far as reactions go. I heard that Red Borneo was sedating but for me it was probably one of the most stimulating....one never knows until you try. that's why sample packs are so great because you can try on one and jot a few notes and try another another time....and find out for yourself how you react to each one. Best wishes!

Hi again. The “honeymoon phase” is the first 2-3 weeks of kratom use for the first time. The effects of kratom are exaggerated and noticeable during this phase.

You won’t get a second honeymoon phase unless you divorce kratom for a period of time.

All emotions and feelings are dulled by pharmaceuticals such as opiates, benzos etc. Quitting the xanax will ALSO promote added anxiety. Even when quitting properly with a dr supervising.

I would not necessarily recommend kratom for anxiety. Some anxiety relief CAN BE FOUND with kratom, but it requires testing and eliminating, which takes time.

CONGRATULATIONS on taking your life back!

PS: took me a year to recover somewhat as the brain has a direct line to the colon. I could get ALMOST to the store. Then try again.

Try to remember that benzos are one of the MOST DIFFICULT to wean off of. 6 weeks is TOO FAST. Be prepared for more frequent but less exhausting panic attacks as you take the power from it by LETTING IT HAPPEN and riding it out.

Just some suggestions from a very similar experience.

You’ll get a lot of support here, too! That helps, too!

Yes I know what your saying. I seem to react like a bonehead to things. I tried the Red Bali, due to reading a lot about reds being the most sedative. Honestly it did seem like it then my nerves started acting up.

Did I cause it? Probably! I concentrated on how I felt the whole time, so I more than likely said, anxiety time!

After burning small doses and kept adding little bits, I had probably ended up with the stimulating part instead of the relaxing part. I should have burned 2 grams from the beginning, but then again, I get paranoid that something will happen. I think too much. Lol

Thank you very much! I have been on the benzo for about three months now. I must admit I seldom get anxiety since the stuff is not in my system. Only when I try to go somewhere, my brain starts thinking and I get bad anxiety then the panic follows. I do miss going places badly.

I think I read so much on kratom that I was hoping for a magical relief from something. It probably does involve a lot of experimenting to see off it works for me.

CONGRATULATIONS on taking your life back!

It’s nice to have others relate to how you feel. I weined quickly out of frustration. It’s been about three months, but from what I have read it takes quite a while for the brain to recalibrate after 3 years of taking them. I read it could take up to a year to feel normal.

I never thought I would even have this happen to me. I will never trust a family doc again.
