I just tried the White Hulu from Gold Leaf and it's very good.Energizing like a white should be.
You may also want to try the kx blend.

Akuamma 20:1 is good too.

Tried the Red Dragon and Chocolate Borneo and they didn't send me but lately I haven't been responding to Reds.

Service is excellent.

Robbie im so glad you are in the right direction. gold leaf is a great choice. their partner company in sense is awesome as well, and they carry organics as well.I truly vision this working for you. my first doses I mixed with apple juice or lemonade or something to help mask the taste. it doesn't blend well but if you let it sit in the liquid for a few minutes it settles and mixes better. I might be getting too far ahead of myself if you need dosing advise please ask!

Thank you Insense. Gold Leaf was very fun to work with. The lady had a wonderful sense of humor. (I like that). I placed an order yesterday and plan on placing another next week. Thank you for the advice.

Be blessed,

Robie

Thank you Nan. And thank you all. I appreciate all responses. I am going to follow your recommendations on the Kratom strains. Our troubles sound familiar and I have the feeling that it will take some testing of many different strains. Thank you Nan.

And be blessed everyone. This is such a kind and pleasant group of people.

Robie-
The situation with chronic pain patients is malpractice. Even if you have a compassionate doctor they get to hide behind regulations for their reasoning for refusing treatment, forced tapers, dropping patients.

Not the same situation as you but I feel you will find success in pain management. One thing kratom is an excellent anti inflammatory I feel you will notice the best results first with your knee pain.

I take Kratom to management spinal arthritis(also diet, exercise, turmeric, ginger, moringa daily)
Surgeries L5-S1 early 20's, L4-L5 30's. I had been treating spinal arthritis since and the resulting nerve pain with cortisone injections almost a decade. This should NOT be used to treat chronic pain btw. My history with pain meds is limited because they never helped me function. I used to hoard them instead of taking. Finally was prescribed pain meds for daily use just probably days before the whole crisis thing. I couldn't do the monthly prescription pick up, I refused pain clinics, and anti depressants. Fortunately I stumbled onto Kratom before I had any very hard obstacles plus I am someone who needs to manage my own pain and Kratom has given me that. Kratom also has given me function I returned to work after two years not being able to stay on my feet long enough. Kratom also has just about stopped my shooting nerve pain. Even when it wears off I might find it hard to stay on my feet but my nerve pain has never really returned.

Reds are recommended for switching over from pain meds because they help with withdrawals. I use certain greens for day relief. Not all reds are sedating. One strain will not work for every day. Sample a few and then order a few to use for your relief.
Recommendations- does not mean they will work for you but just as an example-these are in my rotation from Goldleaf/Insense
Red Hulu- is a less sedating Red
Red Sumatra - sedating stronger pain relief
Red Papua- starts out mood lifting can be active switches over to relaxing.

Most people respond well to Red Maeng Da. I find them only okay.

Green Hulu
Green Thai- my favorite work strain
Green Raiu

I also use
Pa Botancials
Inland
Re-leaf LLC.

Quick tips
Hydration is important.
I use a scale and weigh all my doses
You might need to manage constipation
Read up on ways to take the powder
No question is ever stupid here

Welcome Robie,

You’ll be surprised to find there are people here with even worse physical situations than yourself. Not to minimize your challenges.

Definitely take the suggestion to use the SEARCH option on this website and use keywords like detox or pain (like michele373 suggested), etc. You’ll find recent discussions of amazed success stories (and a few challenges).

There are quite a few people weaning off of opiates or similar medications like suboxone or even heroin AS I TYPE and they NEVER BELIEVE it’s possible to switch to kratom until they try it.

NOT EVERYONE is an instant success story! The leaf requires patience and commitment to TRYING DIFFERENT TYPES to find the product that will be suitable for you. It’s NOT AT ALL as easy as “take this pill” that affects everyone the same way.

However, many people rotate their medication and kratom while getting started (meds one time, kratom the next, meds then kratom spread out over a period of time) to see how it might help. Many people prefer the results from the leaf after trying this method.

The med use DOES dull the results of the leaf, so the less meds, further time between doses the better for ultimate leaf benefits.

Many wonderful vendors offer small sample packages for your initial experiments and the fam damily here is always around to offer advice and suggestions.

You are NOT alone and you are NOT the only one here with serious pain issues. We are here to provide guidance to empower you on your journey to relief.

yes I mean of course rob is wayyyy more knowledgeable than me. new to kratom maybe 10 weeks now found this amazing forum about a month ago. Robbie you are correct that is the traditional response to leaf color but not to all. I need pain management to work so I prefer whites with some greens. the only time I use red strain is when its sink into the couch time or nighty night. haven't found a energizing red strain yet. for me at least, and tried many from different vendors. my first ever dose was of green mang da and its one of my go to strains still. uplifting, works fast, decent energy and pain relief. lasts a good while too. ive just found gold strains recently and they also work well for me

if you hit kratom forum on the top the last one on the pop up is forum search. type in detox or whatever you like and you will find this is the subject of many forums

Thank you. I'm looking for a kratom strain that will allow me to stop this idiocy around the pain medications. I've been on pain control of one form or another since 1984 when I had a work related accident. My neck, back from t-4-5 to my S-1 is compromised. I have bone on bone from my l-4,5 to my S-1. 2 artificial knees. The government is treating my doctor like a Columbian drug lord. I would much rather live with the physical pain than deal with the mental anguish of my doctor, a friend indeed, getting his livelihood compromised for trying to help me. I would have horrible guilt if that happened.

I need advice on the best kratom product to get through the withdrawals and supply pain control. I have read that red vein is the better choice for this. Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated. I have to have pain control and energy. I really like the company "Gold Leaf Botanical'. If someone can give me advice on the right product then I will gladly differ to the fine folks on here and their advice. I'm waiting to hear from someone who was in my situation at one time or another.

Thank you again for your kindness. Have a wonderful day and blessings to all.

robie,
I have bought most of my K from Gold Leaf's sister company, Insense. I just wanted to mention that the Kx blend did not work for pain for either my wife or I but has worked for many of the people on this site.
We tried from 1gm up to 4gms in 1gm increments and only got tired at 3-4gms.

The green riau works great for me in getting rid of my headache, hand, knee, and back pain though. But it didn't do anything but make my wife "loopy" as she told me. :)

I have gone the sample pack route with Insense and used up my allotted maximum of 3 sample packs per year.
This is an excellent way to go for variety before a large buy. I think the ladies and madmax have mentioned that previously.
My Grandkids say I’m a cuckoo head. ;)
