TOPIC: Can Kratom Cause Fevers?

I can personally attest to the immunity boosting effects from kratom.... I believe I’ve only been ill once in a little over two years of daily kratom use ... others around me get sick, I may feel tired like my body is fighting somthing ... but end up bouncing out of it without getting sick... I feel kratom helps in big ways in not being susceptible to yuckies!! Ofcourse we all are different so variables will vary lol (L)

Though I've not seen studies with mitragyna and this reaction, there are many studies showing these results with similar alkaloids.

As to answer your question, there is extremely low probability it could get you sick. Unless there is other biological entities, this is next to none, but could happen. How it is processed is perhaps the best preventative measure, and the most likely way it is bad, but there are some other things to consider - how old is the batch? Every time you open the bag, it runs the risk of contaminating it. Not really from you, but yeast and other natural bacteria, fungus, and mold naturally in the air. Using smaller bags 4oz as opposed to 1k bags can help mitigate this risk, but ensure they're airtight. Squeezing as much air as you can out of the bag before resealing can help. Composition of the bags are important too, are they food grade mylar or foil? Plastics can be porous and harbor bacteria. Do you open in humid areas? That can encourage mold/mildew growth.

sure do appreciate your follow-up!

It’s always a good idea to keep doses low to make it easy to discontinue use to eliminate it contributing to a myriad of health conditions.

All around self care must be a part of treating health issues with kratom. It’s a wonderful tool for relief of many symptoms.

But it never has made me more comfortable when I have a viral illness. I find akuamma a bit more helpful for symptoms from viruses as opposed to the leaf.

I only get the sweats at night and only if I include kratom in my evening supplements and I don’t typically find it necessary for sleep and prefer to allow tolerance relief by skipping it at bedtime.

I can not use a full dose in the mornings and must use just one gram, wait an hour and then I can add another gram and a half.

Hope you’re feeling much better!

The fever was ultimately unrelated because I still take it and don't have any elevated temperatures any longer.
I do get sweaty if I take too much.
Best of luck.

I am one of those people that get the sweats. Now that the weather is cooling, I suspect it won't be as troublesome.

Interesting thought on the fever. I was in the hospital for a few days with pneumonia and they kept asking me if I had chills or fever. I didn't have either. Just the coughing and congestion. This was the first time I have been sick since I started using Kratom.

Bummer. I get those viral fevers more frequently than most people and they are stubborn hanger onners. I also noticed that kratom doesn’t touch the discomfort from these viral fevers. Hang in there!

Thank you for the input.

I gave it up for three days and didn't feel any better. I also went to the doctor who didn't seem to want to link the two (my fever and kratom) and said it's likely a virus.

So far, I don't think it's related to kratom. I don't get sweaty, I just feel sick and have an elevated temperature.

Kratom should not cause a fever BUT it can cause "the sweats" in some people, it is important to identify whether you have an actual elevated body temperature or if you are you just getting "the sweats".

If you have a fever and feel sick and achy you probably have a virus...rest, lots of fluids, and call me in the morning!

(unless you are withdrawing from something as that can make you feel quite sick too)

Sorry to hear you’re still feeling unwell. I’m also on a kratom break to help isolate a health issue. I also have a slight fever, but I get fevers like crazy! ALL THE TIME. So I sympathize with personal experience and full sincerity!

My fever today seems like allergies. But could be from discontinuing kratom since I’m a daily user.

Thanks for following up. Keep us posted and hope you feel better soon!

Thank you both for your replies.
I did stop for a day and didn't feel better, but I'll give it several days and see what happens.

I'll let you know what I find out.
Thanks
