Hello all,
I'm a fairly new user of kratom for persistent back pain. I've used it for a few months, and I don't use more than about 1.5 tsp at the most.
For the last several days I have felt quite sick and had a fever with no other symptoms (no stomach issues, headaches, congestion, coughing, sneezing, etc.)
Can persistent use of kratom cause fevers like this?
If there's already a thread on this topic, please be kind enough to direct me to it.
Thanks!

Welcome becomethesignal !!

I’ve never had fever from kratom, I feel like since I began taking kratom my immune system had been really great , sick once in two years!!! I’d make sure that your buying from a reliable vendor that is selling pure ,
non-contaminated kratom, ones that test for pathogens .. heavy metals .... try a different batch/ vendor... also could just be coincidental taking kratom and getting sick??

Sorry your feeling ill, hope you stick around and let us know how things turn out !! Nice to meet you :-h

Welcome to the best kratom forum ever, becomethesignal!

That’s a new one! How high does the fever get? Perhaps you should discontinue the kratom and see if the fever stops? Thanks for posting!

Thank you both for your replies.
I did stop for a day and didn't feel better, but I'll give it several days and see what happens.

I'll let you know what I find out.
Thanks

Sorry to hear you’re still feeling unwell. I’m also on a kratom break to help isolate a health issue. I also have a slight fever, but I get fevers like crazy! ALL THE TIME. So I sympathize with personal experience and full sincerity!

My fever today seems like allergies. But could be from discontinuing kratom since I’m a daily user.

Thanks for following up. Keep us posted and hope you feel better soon!

Kratom should not cause a fever BUT it can cause "the sweats" in some people, it is important to identify whether you have an actual elevated body temperature or if you are you just getting "the sweats".

If you have a fever and feel sick and achy you probably have a virus...rest, lots of fluids, and call me in the morning!

(unless you are withdrawing from something as that can make you feel quite sick too)

Thank you for the input.

I gave it up for three days and didn't feel any better. I also went to the doctor who didn't seem to want to link the two (my fever and kratom) and said it's likely a virus.

So far, I don't think it's related to kratom. I don't get sweaty, I just feel sick and have an elevated temperature.

Bummer. I get those viral fevers more frequently than most people and they are stubborn hanger onners. I also noticed that kratom doesn’t touch the discomfort from these viral fevers. Hang in there!
