I have a Question about how Kratom acts with Methadone.

For instance if you take a Suboxone while on methadone you get extremely sick with acute withdrawal. Is there anything like this with Kratom? If i start tapering on Methadone can I drink Kratom Shakes at night to feel better?

Anyone have any experience?

I am using Doctor prescribed Methadone for extreme pain from an accident and damaged nerves and other problems in almost all skeletal parts of my body and nerve pain and nerve lesions from the tip of myfingers through wrist arm elbow upper arm under collarbone into my neck and spine. Also am prescribed other c2s. I use Kratom annd the only effect is pain relief from the substantial pain not treated by the pharmaceuticals. It has not blocked my receptor Sites the way Suboxone does. Good lu ck to you Ryan. I was worried about that too. No problem.

This is a beautiful tree used by the people of Indonesia since ancient times for healing of many things mental and physical.

I don’t personally have experience with methadone and coming off using kratom ... but from all the personal accounts regarding this transition that I’ve read .. .. taper...taper ... taper ... when your experiencing WD.. take some kratom .... . and stretch out your methadone doses... after you’ve tapered down some , start replacing a kratom dose for a methadone dose .... My brother was on methadone for a long time, I know it takes a while to get out of your system but tapering is going to be the kindest on your system and kratom can definitely help you.. please keep us posted ... and we are here to help!!

My question today is ,that to everyone's experience, its ok to taper down on opiods, and use Kratom, and it wont throw you into full withdrawal. I was tapered down in a medical facility, supervised by my pain management doctor, to 1/3 of the dose i was on a year and a half ago because of a change in policy at pharmacies. It was difficult and I am way more physically disabeled. Feel so much better when I take Kratom but had a lot of pain yesterday.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EVERY ONE. AND THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE.

I sure hope I can continue on Kratom. I have reduced without it and I think a slow taper would be best for me as long as there is no receptor site issues. I read the article Nan referred to Ryan and among the comments there was some dispute on that issue none from actual experience but positive. I reduced 2/3 of my dose in a medical facility supervised by my pain management doc, never want to go through that again. I had been on a huge but stable dose supervised by one of my orthopaedic surgeons for 10 years through multiple surgeries. The same dose worked for 10 years until the Pharmacy policy changed all that. One doctor supervised pain meds meds always with knowledge of all others including my primary and specialty surgeons, neurologist, ruematologist, foot doctor, etc. I have never used any illeagal narcotics or double doctors. My primary doctor, beautiful woman who has helped me much, is enraged by what has happened to me. But can do nothing. The pharmacists are in charge of doctors now. Very strange.

Now I am becoming tolerant and there are no options. This is inhumane. Like the middle ages or something. Im hoping and praying Kratom can help me. My back is against the wall. I have hope again unless this receptor site isse is a problem. Thanks to Kratom. I think I would feel more pain if it was but? Any comments welcome. When it happens its profound from what Ive heard.

hey! just found this thread.

hi ryan! im glad you found us. I don't have any experience on metadone but ill help how I can on kratom. im close to my 1st 'kratom anniversary' my husband successfully got off a suboxone 10yr 'habit' thanks to kratom. and talked to countless people that got off oxys and all kinds of substances thanks to kratom. so I know its all possible.

I can tell you taking the leaf straight is generally best. in tea, toss/ wash, dissolve in liquid, whatever works best for you. its helpful to rotate strains and companies often. I personally like blending my own, so its not always a precise 'same dose'

red strains typically help most with pain and w/d's. but personally they make me sleepy. most of the time. mang da's and red horn give me a bit of energy. or take a red blend with a green, white, or gold ect..

ive found for me that gold strains can be a happy medium. good mood lift, mellow energy. good for pain relief typically. but everyones different. some greens are just as beneficial. but we all react differently. sometimes different with our selves even if nothing we did change ( empty gut, same dose, same time of day ect.. )

we are all here mostly based on chronic pain. and kratom helps with emotional support too. then again of course if we FEEL better, its easier to be better!

many of us use other herbals to cope with pain and keep our tolerances down. akuamma, Incarvillea, white willow bark. and for PM corydalis, wild lettuce, skullcap, phellodendron ( good for lowering blood pressure and cholesterol too ) are all great options. i take a boswellia complex for inflammation. im looking into experimenting with myrrh and indian warrior.

anyways, im sooo rambling! please let us know if you have any specific questions. someone should be able to help. we are all learning together!
