Has anyone ever heard of black kratom?

I ordered a sample pack from Forida Rooted after seeing it mentioned on here a couple times. They have great prices, so I figured I'd give it a shot. I wasn't able to choose my samples. They just send the same thing to everyone.

Anyway, one of the samples was something called black kratom. I figured it would be like a chocolate or something, but this stuff is literally black. It looks like graphite powder or something.

I did an internet search for black kratom, but I found nothing. Has anyone ever tried this stuff before? Has anyone even heard of it?

I'm intrigued and maybe even a little worried. I tried their green maeng da and I was impressed with that, just not sure about this other type.

I tried it. Looks like tiny pieces of asphalt coating or almost like black sand from a black sand beach. I got it from a place who named it Black Star. I don’t seem to benefit much, but it has a subtle relaxing feeling. Subtle enough to have set it aside and stop trying to find a proper use for it.

I don’t know what other people think - I’m not on Facebook enough and the site (where I got it) got wiped out recently

Hmmm, the sample I have is actually a smooth, fine powder. I'll save it for a night when I need to relax or sleep I think. I just have a feeling it's going to be sedating, which is not what I usually like.

I'll report back when I get a chance to try it out.

That’s probably why I didn’t find it fascinating. Seven100, please stop back when you’ve tried it out. More than one opinion would be quite helpful on the topic. Thanks for sharing about the mysterious black star...

I've tried the black kratom twice now and I thought I would follow up on this.

The first trial I just mixed it with water and shook everything up like I normally do. I let the kratom soak for a bit, again as usual. When I took the lid off of my cup and tried to drink the mixture I found that the kratom powder had swollen up or something. It was almost as course as coffee grounds in the bottom of my bottle. I wasn't able to drink it, it was just too course and stuck to the bottom and the sides of the bottle. I took a few sips and decided that just wasn't for me and poured the stuff out.

Then, about a week later I came down with a cold and was drinking lots of hot beverages and soups and what not, and it occurred to me that maybe the black kratom would be better as a brewed tonic rather than just the slurry that I usually consume. I put the stuff in my tea infuser cup and poured some hot water on top and let it steep for a bit. It was actually kind of a tasty beverage. It had a pleasant toasty flavor with no bitterness, but I felt no effects from it at all. Nothing positive or negative, just a relatively tasty hot tea.

I've never tried steeping kratom before, so I don't know whether that's a method that would normally diminish the effects of the powder or not. I'd appreciate it if someone would let me know.

All in all though this black kratom just did nothing for me. That doesn't mean it's bad, of course, it just isn't my cup of tea so to speak.
