I didn't have that much success with the yellow I tried as far as pain relief. Today I am trying a "red Borneo" from CBD Kratom. I will let you know how that works out. So far, I have found the red horned Maeng Da and the mixed Maeng Da from CBD Kratom to be effective for my chronic pain issues. I did read Joe's article on the various arbitrary names given to Kratom products and found it to be quite informative and persuasive. As you know I am new to all this and trying to get educated. In terms of color have you found that any color, i.e. red, green, etc., is more effective for pain? Thanks again, Laurie.

Isis, one of the exciting things about the Kratom Leaf is they are all unique. Each color/strain has it's own Alkaloid make-up. The material you read from Joe at Re-Leaf really helps to understand. My advice is to continue trying new vendors and order different colors and strains in order to see how your body will react and the benefits each color/strain has to offer you.
It takes time and experimentation to find the doses and sometimes combinations of different strains/colors taken at the same time.
Example: my morning dose first thing in the morning usually includes Green and red combination. This way I get the positive mood boost along with pain relieving qualities of a red. Then in my evening dose I mix reds,Golds, and yellows. Depending on what I am trying to achieve in the way of pain relief and relaxation.
I strongly recommend reading in the Forum Index "Find a vendor/Rate a vendor" you will find some awesome Vendors who have really fresh product.
Best advice is spread your Kratom dollar over a few different vendors and don't order too much of any one strain. The more options you have the more Alkaloids you can use to meet your needs.
Good Luck......

Isis,

Jazzfan1 nailed it on recommendation from here. Trial and error is constant, also, because if you really like a strain, it’s likely gone before you can reorder that batch. And we respond differently on different days! Depending on what food has been consumed, other meds, herbs.

Reds are best for pain. But not all of them do it. I’m on a lucky streak this week and using some King Kong I got from Re-Leaf LLC before the switch to phenotypes. Whatever it is, wasn’t a favorite. So I added a dash of black pepper extract, fresh turmeric, and lemon or orange extract, and the tiniest dusting of a nice extract. Shake the bag up and it’s all I will use today. At bedtime, I use only stem n vein. That way my tolerance goes back down in my sleep because even a smidgen of extract mixed into leaf will raise tolerance. However, I need a shower and I would be in bed without it today (weather affects my brain and I’m also stepping down doses of Chantix because it was great for quitting vaping nicotine but is not a long term antidepressant). I also use kanna daily when not using Chantix to combat depression and get me off my arse!

Stick with the suggestions Jazzfan1 provided. Kratom is a never ending trial and error experience, IMO. Some people get exact results from precise measurement and certain kinds of red. I tend to think a lot of that is partly placebo effect and a sense of being IN CONTROL and EXPECTING the exact same result. And that WORKS WELL for a lot of folks. Once you find a good red, you’ll have better days. But it depends on when you take it, what you’ve eaten, etc all over again.

Keep ordering samples. Use the Approved Vendor list for some of your orders. Email them first for a likely ILK discount code. It helps vendors to know where you found their name. They are always happy to provide some sort of discount code if asked.

I’m hoping to post the codes on the bulletin board for everyone since the Black Friday ones are expired. I just haven’t had a chance to contact the vendors yet about it, so you need to ask individually for now. It helps them learn who you are and perhaps pop another spare freebie in your order.

Might be a little wait. He’s just now driving home from shoulder surgery and hasn’t got them handy to test for function, but he DOES have one or two, so hang tough and he’ll be at the office in an hour or so. I’ll post OR HE WILL them as soon as possible for you.

Laurie, I decided to take your advice and tried a different vendor. I placed an order with AuthenticKratom and purchased 1oz each of three different reds and 1oz of Borneo green. I intend to take one level teaspoon measure (3g.) in orange juice. The reds are: Red Horn, Maeng Da and Bali. Any comments? My intent is pain control and to minimize Rx opiates.

Hi Isis,
I wrote my reply earlier, but lost it to distraction. I'm anxious to hear what you think, of course.

My advice is to either rotate an opiate dose or a Kratom dose. Opiates wipe out kratom' benefits in my metabolism, but BoMalley and others get results doing that.

I would recommend you do one day kratom and one day opiates. That's only because Kratom benefits are so subtle, and the two substances use the same receptors in the brain. One will cancel the other out - opiates are much stronger, so...

The thing is, you're not getting the full benefit of the leaf while using opiates - period. Not being a nag, it's just what it is. Most of us PREFER kratom once we've had it without the opiates.

For now, if you are less than impressed, that's the issue. Kratom DOES HELP, even when you don't "feel" it. It's a great anti-inflammatory substance and the green you got will likely still offer some mood lift and an unexpected smile for you.

Love your choices, cannot wait to hear back from you after you've gotten them and tried some!
Laurie
