Laurie hendry- at the moment, I only have experience with Happyhippoherbals (trying some new vendors soon).

They are not an approved vendor here.

They are rather expensive but, they have good stuff and they have a "speed chart" that rates their stuff on a visual chart. The "red hot" I got as a sample was was very energizing and "mood lifting" (I think of euphoria more in terms of sedation). I've tried others above it on that chart and they are all very energizing (some on the twitchy end, too much).

They have sales but, that only brings it down closer to most of the vendors on this sites regular price.... And it's only one strain at a time for like a day. If your interested, go to Happyhippoherbals, click on fast strains and look in the description for "see our chart to compare strains".

Hopefully someone will give you some options from less expensive approved vendors. I will check back in when I get my orders in.

DenverJeff- actually learned quite a bit from that. Have to infer some things by the declining specifics of just saying the vendor and white or green or red and some acronyms that mean nothing to me.

Did you work up to those dosages ? Or just start with a gram and go up ?

When I first started I saw people saying 4 grams + ... I started with 1 and thought it was too much, went to 1/2 gram and got much better results, more energy and focus from the smaller dosing. I see on there reminding yourself to drop dosage.

I do find myself getting a bit burned out on a strain bit, it takes a long time. I don't increase dosage to try to " get more out of it" doesn't work for me. I keep it the same and get what I get and remind myself to be happy that there's some pain relief, mood elevation and motivation there.

What was the white you got from inland that you liked ?

You seem to have very similar opinions of the HH strains though your day to day seems to vary more.

When you say "energized but not in a good way" is what I call "twitchy". Kind of like " I want to jump out of my skin but don't have the focus to do anything productive.

ETC,

I weigh about 160 lbs, and my normal base-line dosage is from 1 to 2 level teaspoons (not a rounded or heaping teaspoon). That said, kratom powder can be measured loosely or compacted into the space of one teaspoon, so you should define for yourself how you measure your personal dosing amount and maintain consistency. I measure my doses using loose powder. If I start dosing higher amounts to reach the sought-after effects, it's an indication my tolerance is increasing and I need to reduce consumption or give myself a kratom break. I also dose using "00" gel caps that I fill using my capping kit I purchased from Amazon.

I keep this information handy for my personal dosing routine (yours will likely vary):
• 1 standard dose = 1 to 2 level teaspoons
• 1 level teaspoon = 2.5 to 3 grams
• 1 level teaspoon = 5 or 6 “00” caps
• Never single-dose more than 4 teaspoons.
• 1 ounce = 28 grams
• 35.274 ounces = 1 kilo

White Borneo is one of my favorite leafs, and Inland Botanicals, In Sense Botanicals, and HH carry effective strains that work for me.

Yes, "energized but not in a good way" is my subjective way of saying twitchy or having a general sense of undesirable over-stimulation. This might happen for reasons unrelated to the kratom strain (too much coffee or dehydration, for example). Drinking a glass of water often solves the problem.

You guys sound aligned with my metabolism regarding results as well as dosing size. This is more helpful for me to get vendor/strain recommendations than what a rating system has.

I miss it already. But I’m still having vertigo, so nothing can be enjoyed . Going to see the dr now that I have eliminated any possible blame on kratom or kanna. Problem not related to my herb use.

Laurie, I hope you succeed in finding the cause of the vertigo. My thoughts are with you.

Yeah Laurie, good luck with that. Possibly inner ear issue ? Hopefully you have a good ear nose and throat specialist, it's not always easy to find good Drs. Just went through a few with some issues my wife was having.

DenverJeff- I use a scale to baseline my dosage with an adjustable measuring spoon. There is variance but it's small. I must be extra sensitive to the stuff because I'm 6' 205 lbs and usually use a level 1/4 ts that baselines at just over 1/2-3/4 gram. I find that a fairly packed 1/4 ts is easier to keep consistent than a loose spoonful. For me the beneficial effects turn into more of a buzz than a useful supplement when I up the dosage. Buzz is ok with a sedating strain at night but, for daytime, focus, energy and mild pain relief is my goal and, low dosing seems to give me max benefit. I do usually redose once after 4 hrs then let it fade out at night.

How do feel the strength of Inland and Insense matches up with Happy Hippo ?

I like ghost (white Borneo) quite a bit, not too fast, decent mood lift and focus. Going to see if their red maeng da is anything like Red Hot and if someone else's red Sumatra is like Magic.

Oh yeah, forgot twitchy. Twitchy is just twitchy to me, certain strains I can't take enough to get any benefit beside energy before it's overwhelming. I usually stay away from those. I could take a very small dose with a calming one I suppose but, I don't mix and match much.

ETC, Good for you! Feel fortunate for getting those benefits from such a small dose. Some people take ridiculously large amounts and start turning into green-skinned martians from all the kratom powder they consume.

Regarding White Borneo, I think the effects from Inland and HH are the same. Haven't used enough In Sense yet to be able to make a comparison but was impressed with the first two dosings.

Magic is one of my favorites. I really like Red Sumatra for insomnia. Some nights I wake up too early, like after 4 hours of sleep. If it's not a work day, I'll take some Red Sumatra and go back to sleep for several more hours, then wake up feeling super great and rested.

What do you do if it’s a workday, DenverJeff?!

I have tried that (red Sumatra example) and I take ANY DOSE YOU NAME AND LIE THERE FEELING TARRED 8-O

End up returning emails early and hope for a nap later. Haven’t found a “nap” strain YET.
