So I’ve been using Kratom for a little over a year now mainly for anxiety and overall low mood so it’s been very effective and why I continued to use it and not knowing much about it I just took what I could when I could and knew the different veins and what strains do what. I’ve recently sustained a traumatic brain injury and along with that comes many difficulties and I’ve turned to Kratom as my reason to go natural herb instead of some potent medications that are dangerous such as Xanax which I’m prescribed 6mg a day and I’d rather have to use Kratom than Xanax and other benzos, not knowing much about tolerance I’ve lately been using extracts such as mit45 or opms and I’m very quickly learning the vicious cycle I’ve gotten into as far as tolerance, wd, and extracts are not cheap if you use them more than what’s recommended so I’ve failed to listen to that and I’m now In a spot of withdrawal because I’ve gone a day with no Kratom and definitely notice the wd but read all over about help with the wd but I wanted to give this forum a shot and talk to people who are knowledgeable so if I can get help on withdrawal and then a better regiment that would be considered correct and helpful I would appreciate it

Hopefully forum members with WD experience reply soon and can offer advice and maybe some other herbs to help.
If not I will do a search later and try to find past conversations and link them here to this topic.

In the mean time for a quick tip in tapering advice I will share some stem and vein info in case you need to do this also.

Stem and vein is a little harder to find sells out very quickly.

Stem and vein- (this is a copy and paste)
Stem and vein Kratom is a type of powder made solely from the stems and veins of other Kratom products. Stem and vein has a very distinct alkaloid makeup because most of the alkaloids found in stem and vein aren't prevalent in the leaves which means these alkaloids are fairly unique

If you get a true quality stem and vein it will hit different receptors than regular kratom, you should be able to get somewhat similar results and since it hits different receptors the idea it will help reset tolerance level without having to take a kratom break.
likely you will need to take more than your normal dose, some will cut the higher dose in half and add stem and vein to help taper a higher dose.

We had a few conversations also recently about extracts. Hold tight replies will come soon.

Hey kradude, I feel ya bro,

I took a day and a half break not to long ago, zero wd symptoms due to using akuamma seed caps, I don’t know if it helps reset some tolerance problems as it touches upon some of the same receptors as Kratom, but I was totally impressed that I had barely noticeable effects from the lack of Kratom, I could have gone for a longer break because it was such a breeze with akuamma..

As I haven’t tried stem and vein, I don’t have personal accounts for that but feel like that’s a very good idea as well, some top members here swear by it ..

So perhaps stem and vein and maybe akuamma to include ...

Also maybe just a tappering down would be helpful as well..

Good luck , Laurie I suspect will have some suggestions and perhaps others,

I’ve stayed away from extracts for the most part and when I did use them is was home made and never more than two days in a row , even then I notice it did affect the efficacy of my powder doses ... proceed with caution as far as extracts go, I feel you’ve learned that one already though!!

Good luck and take care

Brandon

Sorry for your injury I hope you are on the mend.
Searching around the forum
Kanna
Valerian
Ashwagandha
Helps with anxiety
Something to research.

You need to get the extract out of your system. Restart with kratom powder nothing enhanced.
Green strains work great for low mood and anxiety. White for more focus and energy. But you will need Red Strains for withdrawal symptoms.

You might hit up kratom Reddit see what they suggest too.

Welcome to the best kratom forum ever, Kradude27!

Do you have regular leaf product? You really wanna have the leaf product while downstepping from the extracts.

I’ve used extracts and they do help with pain, BUT they raise my tolerance immediately. They are not as multi-faceted with pleasant effects like the leaf alone.

Hopefully you have leaf product and/or stem n vein to relieve some of your symptoms. In other words, the good advice provided prior to my “welcome” comments are PERFECT and I don’t have any other suggestions about kratom usage to add.

Try to remember that withdrawal includes nasty self-scolding depression for a lot of us. Knowing to IGNORE negative thoughts by changing them will help you get through this IF YOU EVEN SUFFER WITH IT (I do and I know many people where the depression is more alarming than the physical symptoms).

You can get back to enjoying leaf very soon after quitting extracts. Maybe 3 days in my experience.

Keep us posted on what you’re doing now and how you’re feeling.

So sorry about the injury. You’ll need a LOT OF PATIENCE with YOURSELF to recover from that as well. That one TAKES A LONG TIME. You can count on us for support!

Tapering is definitely the way to go.

You can do that by keeping the dose the same and spreading out your intake.

If you normally dose every 6 hours stretch that to 7 or 8. Then you stretch that to every 10 hours, every 12 hours etc. Eventually you will have dropped an entire dose altogether.

Apparently your body will adapt to the increased time between doses MORE quickly than a decreased dose at the same frequency.

Once you are down to once or twice per day then you start tapering the dose down.

I can go all day without kratom and not notice anything unusual.

When you say you notice WD's...what exactly are you experiencing?

I had good luck using Agmatine to lower my tolerances after having used much more than normal amounts for several weeks after some bone fractures.
Taking about 500mg morning and night I was able to cut a full gram off my doses with very little negative effects. After a few weeks I went from 8 gram per dose to 4.
I also think I've read some scientific articles about Agmatine being used to help treat TBIs but I don't quite remember the details. It might be worth effort to do some research though.

Joe @ Re-Leaf LLC carries agmatine and swears it helps best with tolerance lowering.

My experience was good, but agmatine MUST BE taken on an empty stomach and MUST STAY an empty stomach until fully digested or it turns into a protein.

I found it made me SUPER HUNGRY after the first day of use and it was like being on steroids type hunger. I gained weight by looking at the bag.

I went back to what works for me: stem n vein and plain old temporary discomfort (reducing dose in a taper). This topic is interesting because it’s also SUBJECT to metabolism of each individual. No two people are enough alike to guarantee the same result.

Just my opinion(s)
Laurie
